the right side (actually, the cloth's left) is finished.

except for the very bottom…am not sure here…will wait until the other side is finished….

and something here, with Jude's magic thread.

and however it goes with the thread beads here.

the kantha changes everything.  first, it has it's own energy that causes the energetic movement with the cloth.  but also,  the layers have become One.  it's a really exhilarating feeling.

now for the left side…..i'll begin that tonight.
all the while, i am glancing over to the center….seeing/feeling it moving in a different way….

and an Update in Goat World:

004
this is the little door to the Outside, opened yesterday….

001fix

and everybody coming In to check it out…those are the First Babies…taking advantage of my leaving the little step stool there….one actually got up on it, went half way through the fence onto the stacked hay before i noticed.  they don't miss a Thing.

in a little while i'm going to haul over some stumps and build the babies a little something to jump on.  i wish i could make them a mountain.  climbing is their Joy.

what a happy happy post. To see your cloth- the kantha really does look amazing. ” The layers have become One”!!!! The goats they are aplenty…… you have made such a wonderful home for them. I wish I was closer and would help you with the stumps. They DO love to climb and leap off of things.
The center of your cloth…. love the yellows and the black birds…. On to the left( the cloths right).. xoxo

thanks, Dee. i think i love kantha the BEST..or, at least
    how i end up kantha~ing…
it is a magnificant stitch that can express for me how
it feels to me, everything. things to me ride single y
in a field of uhhhh, vibrations. the kantha represents
then that field of space in which all drifts. it’s
perfect for that. really, the only thing i know that
    can express that.

oh! my! those lines and lines of stitching. and all so straight… you didn’t go uphill or downhill. how did you do that? pencil lines? glorious. i think you are tenacious.
with goats and kantha. one question from last post… why do you think that other momma bit the little babies ear? was there a lesson he needed to learn? odd. i wish i could send you some alfalfa.

nope. just start the first one straight and GO…………
i talked to Jenny on phone tonight, told her and she said
it’s a common reprimand. baby goat did something that i
guess i didn’t see and he most likely will NOt do it again.
they learn really really fast. it might have been that
there are 3 nursing mothers (so far) and it’s important
that everyone stick to their own mother. problems
arise when babys go to the nearest teet.
i wish you could send alfalfa. that would be the greatest
    thing.
BUT, my neighbor cut his field yesterday. probably
tomorrow he will bale. things should get easier if i can
    buy from him.

Magical, your Kantha stitching is glorious and with the colours you chose, you’re exactly right, so much movement, like a gentle stream, it reminds me of exactly that…
Your goats make me wistful for old times, good times. Thanks for sharing πŸ™‚

“that field of [vibrations] in which all drifts”; that’s just perfect Grace; it explains exactly what I see here. The Grass is now obvious or prominent in a way it wasn’t to me before, but this part of the cloth is now just as alive as it is. You’ve got me thinking. And the goats continue to amaze me. This last picture of them all exploring the new digs, together, makes me see them as a herd. They are awesome.

    Grace,
I really think your cloth is marvellous! It’s amazing that you find time to sew, stitch AND care for the goats.
But…anyway, the result is …let’s make it short:
    WOW!!

“The center will wait”, you said. Here’s this, from Norman Fischer’s OPENING TO YOU (Psalm 22)
Do not be far from me
    Be the center
    Of the center
    Of the circle
Be the strength of that center
Might you put something goatish in your work, a symbol of what’s going on?

i have been sharing your sharing of your goats with my lily grand-d, and she is going to love this post!
the stitching you share, i share with myself….as i did the stitching on my view-path, the fabric took on another feel to it, but try to describe that to someone who hasn’t done it…it really does make the bits and bits all one bit.
side by side, our 2 pieces would be vastly different…in size and color…but oh so the same in stitch and texture…and we would both nod and know just how wonderful it felt to do all that stitching!!

Oooooooohhhhhh! Soooooo beautiful!!! I love how the kantha shimmers upward, like heat rising. Your colors are amazing. There is a gentle symmetry to the cloth that seems just right–not too much, not too little. I love the plants and birds flying in their arch. Would love to examine every inch. Thank you for sharing this.

Wendy..the herd energy is intense. really interesting to
begin to understand. they move very individually really,
but at the same time, there is a very intense level of
awareness of the Whole….i am fascinated by this.
The breed was originally imported to this country as
feed for zoo animals. it wasn’t until too long ago that
their potential as dairy goats was appreciated.
but i can also watch this quality(?) they have of being
prey. in many ways, they are truly helpless if attacked…
as in when a couple years ago at the daughter’s by the
neighborhood german shepards. SnowBunny, the senior doe.
did her best but was severely ripped up and the dogs DID
take a baby. so…watching/trying to understand their
    place upon this planet.
and yes…that field of vibrations…am well into it right
now and have no idea how it’s going to go…just that i
    oh so much love it.
