Equinox.  the tilt of the Earth's axis is inclined neither away nor toward the Sun.

how could this BE?,  this perfection of planetary tilt or not?  how did it happen?  how did it STAY happening,  how we COUNT on it staying happening.  we even make ……….. calendars.  i have been affected by the presence of someone not quite 3 who asks with every breath, "Why?"  "How?"  "What kind?"   and it's not to just engage the adult, but he is totally sincere, Real, with his questions.  and i don't have to "dumb down" the answers i attempt to give.  i tell him everything i know.  he listens.  sometimes commenting, sometimes just listens and goes off.

004f

the glow.  almost dusk. 2 more days.  the crickets have begun The Single Note.  ALL of them, in a huge circle extending out to forever, sing.  Sing the Same Single Note.  non~stop.  breathing…when/how do they Breathe?  there is not a single pause.  it is constant.  how can this be?  Why?

on the right is the beginning of the Goat Thing.  a place where they can come and climb, fling themselves off in flight.  the floundering grandson made it with no nails, no screws, just  tension and balance.

Hello Grace, I keep popping up like a bad penny! Just read your last two posts – I really feel the depth of your pain and concern for the Earth in all its beauty. So many beautiful and deep responses to your heartfelt Cry. Julian is Everyboy I guess and you are trying to lay a foundation; you can be sure he will always treasure his Old Nanna who cares so deeply for everything and everyone. I agree that this feeling of needing to grab everything is new, particularly in our lack of caring for others. I don’t know the answers or even if there is one except to try to NOT do what I see is lacking in others and to try and love as much as I can. Hopefully the ripple will spread….. Whoever mentioned Terry Tempest Williams, thank you! I just read Refuge in one sitting and I am moving on to the next. Wonderful writing.

    whoah, the last post
take what you need, the rest is greed ( I can’t remember if I thought of this or read it somewhere) anyhow, we’re beyond the point of taking what we need as a species….we’ve become greedy, and then some.
as is so aptly described in Lierre Keith’s The Vegetarian Myth
and we KNOW it, and can TURN around NOW
but will we, do we want to?
I find it very difficult, I mean the answer is obvious and yet we have to all join in and say: enough is enough, and money/possession is not the be all and end all of Everything
there is a great gaping hole in each and everyone that wants to be Full, and we have to trace back to what this fulfillment truly is/could be and realise what we need and want is perhaps not what we today think we need and want.
I mean literally: not the bigger house, car, education…..but we want to be seen and loved and cherished and share with others songs and stories and knowledge
    o Grace

Just swinging by to see how it’s going in Grace World and I’m so happy to see that Julian’s child mind is rubbing off…and I thought it was going to be the other way round. 🙂

    need. yes.
have been checking out that thought about it being only
really, in our generation, like after WWII that things
got so carried away….and i think it is. so…to me,
if we, and i mean we in those of us who are now maturing
    adults, can somehow just STOP!
