Beautiful! I can feel the wind and the the spacious cliff!
She is signalling something very important! Let’s pay attention!

oh my word, look how the land shark has become the lady of the land! And the crows, she is truly luring them.
You have such a gift for these very very fine elements. This b/w photo (at least on my screen) is also very very striking, makes the sunlight come in a beautiful way.LikeLike

sort of a cross between an SOS and a “yoo-hoo, here i am sisters.” love the way it looks in b & w. and there’s a feeling here. don’t know if i can describe it. a certain lightness of spirit. an uplifting of sorts. is that Vision?

She has the spirit of the dolls you used to make, to me at least, she reminds me of some I saw.. and the raft with the sail in your yard, now, no raft, but the flag – like a kite – is a sail. To me she is signaling the birds – hey, birds, here I am… find me, here, me!! So many stories here, so many gestures. I love that she almost doesn’t hold the pole, its balanced or attached maybe, just by a thread. I love this one.

will it be sent away to michigan as well?
you know it would be bought here if you put it up for sale.LikeLike

so many of your things would sell if you allowed it. i love that you put it in b&w… shows the values… these small cloths are really something… i agree with valerian… they resemble your dolls in spirit.

Hey Grace, it seems you have a wind catcher in your hands and the crows will come to ride on that wind, to soar and fall off the edge of the wind in that funny wonky crow way that they have – no elegance but full of belief in who they are. Crows were my nemesis when I lived out west, they came for the weak lambs, nature’s way of course but I couldn’t bear it, to see those vulnerable little creatures pecked at and harassed. It was a losing battle but I don’t hold it against them – it was either crows or eagles!

I whole-heartedly agree with all of the wise words already commented here…and I will add that when I super-duper enlarge the photo…the b/w of it shows the most amazing fantastic texture!!! I really love this one Grace.

no. all the Michigans had already gone. havn’t arrived
yet. maybe Monday?.
i thought about that while working on it today and it’s
really wearing. this one is more than a “little” cloth.
it’s a Medium cloth. how do you figure all that out?
and i try to look at other people’s work…how do they
decide pricing? and as Lynda said on her blog, how do
you know that what you see, meaning me, is what anyone
else would. and then i think about Saskia and her work and
how she just goes. period. and how i admire that about
her. so…blah blah blah.LikeLike
-
i’d like that to happen. i miss the dolls in a way
and this allows for that. and actually, it’s what i’d
hoped…to give the figure their environment……LikeLike
-
that would be difficult to forgive, the lambs, but
crows would. they are so Free of constraints of any kind.LikeLike
