ok.  go to Saskia's blog…tales from the birdhut…on Jude's side bar and watch video of Amanda Fucking Palmer.

ok.  you have done that.

HOW, i am wondering does someone who could have been Amanda Fucking Palmer become grace Forrest?, watching a very dumb little dove, of very dumb dove parents in the middle of really No Where,  spending days stitching diligently on recycled cloth.

this is the Question.

and Why or Why not does the answer matter at all.  OK.

Go to TED talks and watch Amanda Palmer speak of The Art of Asking:
As to the Question: mi querida grace: sometimes circumstances force us to choose how we live our lives, other times, we make the choices. Aren’t you living the life you have always wanted…? Ever since I have known you, this has been the life you claim to have wanted and it is a rich, deeply knowing, inspiring, adventurous life from where I sit. And as to day 10, hey, it’s your blog, you can write as much or as little, share as much or as little about your life as you choose. You know that you connect with many because many come to this place called windthread. At the end of the day, however, I feel first and foremost this place is for you. It may have started out as a way to chronicle cloth but has become a diary of your life as a way of recording all that comes into it, day in and day out, a way to hold onto what you dreamed of so long ago and what you have chosen to do with that dream… to quote dear Mary Oliver: ‘Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?’
And you do tell with windthread and the value of your telling is beyond compare so my question to you is why does there have to be anything else…

Am I missing the point here somewhere, don’t we all wish we were somebody else sometimes, we are always ourselves, whether we want to be or not, that is fate, but we can and do live different lives, we are children, teenagers, adults, lovers mothers, wives, stitchers, gardeners, cooks, housewives. Finding yourself is hard though, your true self, I am 60 and only just beginning to do that I think.
I have been helped in that by seeing into others lives and their work, their way of living partly through blogs.
Does that sound right finding yourself through other people, I guess other people help you find your own perspective.

I think you are Grace Fucking Forrest, Connector of SO MUCH. And we don’t see Amanda F. Palmer on the days she is filled with self doubt, nor have we seen her at your age.

Oh and one more thing, if you listen to all of the lyrics to Amanda Palmer’s song, “In My Mind” as the song ends are these words of hers:
“And maybe it’s funniest of all
To think I’ll die before I actually see
That I am exactly the person that I want to be.
    F. yes
I am exactly the person that I want to be.”

day to day moment to moment and then sometimes in the middle of all that… there is those little glimpses of magic like hearing the aaaarrrkkk aaarrrrkk aaaaaaaaarrrrk & finding a crow feather right there or reading a word that strikes a deep chord by a woman named Grace who has a raft in the desert & a gang of goats and a needle and a vision that shines.

We can never know the value that our expression has for others – no matter how little or how large we think we live, we touch others with our honesty, our delving, our asking, our questioning, and our doing. There are infinite ways to live our lives, and, as Rumi wrote (and I’m sure you’ve read this)
“Let the beauty of what you love be what you do. There are a thousand ways to kneel and kiss the earth.”
Sometimes its the quiet, almost invisible things that hold the deepest magic… my life would be far less enchanted without the few weeks of luna moths here at RavenWood, and the time I have to spend with them.

debbie.weaver i like your words here.
i have found pretty much my self and this is the self
i live with now and will live with. and really, i
could wonder why i even waste one iota of energy thinking
    about the things i do. but i do. it’s i think a
    habit.
I mostly loved Amanda Palmer in this video because i
was so much like her, energy wise, in your face wise, at
her time in her life. and it was such a pleasure to
watch that and remember so clearly, and also then to feel
so good that i burned that energy off over time. it’s
exhausting physically and spiritually. and developmentally correct that we burn it off.
and yes. i agree. we come to know a lot about ourselves
    in the mirroring of others.
THANK YOU so much for your words….
