and come back throughout the day and look at it and then at the end of the day, see what i think.

002f
this is the uhhh,  "stationary" altar.   it is on the shelf beneath the Green Tara.  where my gaze is focused during meditation.   the objects here change.  there is this:

010
a gift from Jude during Cloth to Cloth.   since then, it has been the little altar cloth.   different things sit on it.   things to help me remember from moment to moment what is important to me:

003f

004f

005f

007

008f

so

i am going to make altar cloths.   and i am going to offer them for Sale.

yes, Sale.

they will cost $50.

when one is finished, i will put a photo of it here and repeat this.  that it is for Sale.  for $50.   this is a LEAP for me.  but too many things in the last days are supporting it.  I need to Care for this herd of Goats in an Impeccable (Don Juan, Carlos Casteneda again) manner.  today i need to respond to a request for yet another job as a gardner for someone.   nice.  but i need to be Here.  i really need to be Here.

so here we go.   i will come and look at this and read again the words through the day and see if it feels right.  at the end of the day i will either leave it and write more details tomorrow when the number of the day equals 5 or i will delete it.

ok.

you can have NO idea how much i love this little woven
cloth. how it’s beauty fills me over and over and over.
    and over more.
what i’m thinking of making is different.
but this one is the inspiration. the seed cloth.
    and again, i love you.

This is so fine because an altar cloth is a giving cloth: you are giving the one who buys it a touchstone to connect with what matters to them and in turn, the giving goes both ways for in return, your goats will thrive by your hand work. I do want to add here though that you have made a commitment to this herd and whatever means you use to sustain them has its own sense of integrity, whether it be cleaning, gardening or cloth work…

Marti…to this very important part of your thoughts…
    “a commitment to this herd”
“whatever means …cleaning, gardening or cloth work”
and also what is equally true and somehow perfectly
and mutually tied is that i also made a commitment to
Cloth Making, before the Unforseen brought the Goats
    here.
    This way will honor both.
    more later….

I love the thought of altar cloths for sale… to support you and the goats impeccably. And CHOICE. I’ve been tempted MANY times by jobs that would take me away from where I KNOW I am suppose to be. And, yes, I am still struggling financially, but my staying put and dreaming my dream is what got me the grant for my beautiful, beautiful studio building. And NO, I am still not making enough money from that yet, but my mother’s illness and death slowed everything… and now I am beginning again. I say this cause I wonder if you feel torn about the gardening job? I know how that can be… and impeccable is a good thing to strive for.
    Blessings today, Grace.

    Hi Grace,
I love your idea that you have thrown the idea out to the universe. Altar cloths are a way to honor yourself and the goats. I am a huge believer that signs aka the Universe tell you or guide you what to do.

Oh no, another Spirtcloth-like place where I will never be able to be the one with my hand on the buzzer in time!!! Here’s something: could you make them to order so you could be thinking of a person while you are making it? She asked, hopefully.

that’s a big question. and at the moment putting the
cloth before the needle and thread.
i need to see what shows up. if it’s “right”, i
MIGHT be able to do that, OR, try.
i did it with the “dolls”

hi Grace: just to let you know there’s ‘something’ not working with your next post, or maybe it’s only from my place:
2 problems: first the link doesn’t work, second I cannot comment
and if I could comment: an unbelieve-ably beautiful white quilt and the goat in the middle: could you make an altar cloth for me with a dancing goat: would make a great companion for Ghost Bird!!!!!and the dancing goat makes me SMILE, such a happy smile
So you see, I’m placing an ‘order’, work it out in your own time and pace, I’m a patient person;-)

Saskia I’m glad that you mentioned the comment not working on grace’s latest post. I too could not comment and thought it might be something to do with my laptop:
So here will go the comment for the daughter quilt: When you first made this labor of love grace, I was so moved and think I wrote words to the effect that this cloth/quilt was a talisman of love and protection to go with Jenny, to wrap herself and her dreams, blessed by her mother’s stitches. For now, the dream has returned and rests in your hands. To see these photos again of the making of this quilt is to see the beauty of spirit, intention and love…
