i  will look back tonight.  see what i see.  it became more second nature as the days continued.  now, 11 more months.

001f
held to morning Sun,  the white became sun colored.  and as i looked at the odd little experimental stitches, i thought how White would be good for a spider web cloth.

004f
it's finished.

has been such learning.  will continue to be.  will continue to be called Altar Cloth.  how much to put here, how much to leave off.  why, of each thing put.  i will learn a lot with these.  and what i love in this moment, LOVE a lot…is how "right" it is to let them go.  this is something i don't understand in the moment, but know i will.  So, Cindy…off in the mail tomorrow.  it's Good. very Good.  Thank you.  and Janie.

003f
this tiny piece is my most favorite.  it is from a seam of something from so long ago that what the something was, i don't know.  but a bound seam, separated and flattened.  and maybe is why the making of these feels so good.  just small, really really small things have an important place within the whole.  anyway…i love it.  me and love.  oh well….

and i'm done for the day now.  Finally, one of the onion starts has sent it's emmisary green up through the earth.  i'd been wondering if none would come.  but….there, in this warm warm late afternoon, there it is.  i squated and marveled and was glad.

and i thought i was done for today.  but, no.  out of the blue,  obcessing about White,  as an under current to everything, it seems,  i suddenly realized that a spider web might be made of white.  different kinds of white as there are different kinds of days the spider weaves through.  and not a nine patch, but a different kind of 9…in an oval.  like slices in a pie.  so..ok.  9 kinds of White.

I love that photo of the laundry. Makes me think of that poem by Richard Wilbur… I will have to go look it up now.

you had told me to wait, and I was thinking I should’ve said the same to you, to see if this is where you want it to come….but I am so glad it is coming. that bit of cloth, that looks like a chip of abolone shell on my screen, and janie- she has been around a lot this week, walking with her skirts swishing. I can’t wait to hold it.

I’m loving you so…and waving to you as my eyes wander over those white cloths flapping in your New Mexican air. I’m just loving you for who you are and how it pierces me thoroughly to know you. Goodnight dear Grace.

I’m still along on the journey, Grace. Quietly right now, not a lot of words to say, but still along. I don’t think I could blog daily, but I can see the benefit of it and do love that you are doing it and that I can share that.

a whole month of daily reporting, that sure is something
there’s a sun in the west right now shining on the hundreds of shrivelled snowdrops and bare trees and manky shrubs, it has a warm New Mexican glow, although it’s not really warm enough for the time of year, or so they tell me, the light though is like the light in the picture of your laundry line; it makes me feel closer to your world

i will wait to know what it really is.
and i also am thinking that i keep it to the
    beauty.
    should I? i don’t know.
it’s not all wonderful. it has it’s ify moments.
are they important to include? or only if they
become dominant? which is rare anymore, knock on wood…
    ????????????
    thinking about this….
i’m glad you are quietly here.

    open~ness
    yes. it is
    that.
a good word. openness. doesn’t necessarily give any
    particular Picture, just a sense…
right now, almost dusk, i can hear the clicking of Goat
hooves in their evening Theater of Themselves, the
bell, handing in the apricot tree rings off and on with
a strong breeze. in the far distance, kids run a 4 wheeler. a dog barks somewhere. and i keep forgetting, the 3rd day now, to say about the crickets. they have begun. that soft spring just beginning song. and as i typed that, a meadowlark.
