so…much of today was a true mix of extra~ordinary and Ordinary.  so much so, it was hard to tell the difference.  but for the Ordinary, i went to visit Betty at the Old Folks Joint.  Everytime i go it seems i make a new friend.  today it was Celia.  she is ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR YEARS OLD.

104 years old.  Bright minded.  Celia.

and there was a LOT of Extraordinary cyber exchanges.  laying fibers across the terraine.  they pulse.

and on a sudden urge, i went to the hardware/lumberyard and bought some cheap self stick tile for the kitchen…faux saltillo.  it looked kind of OK in the box's window….but getting it home, oh…eee, it's shiny.  Yikes.

it might scuff up ok…?  oh, eeeee.

and some extra Chore Boys for scrubbing the Goats water bowls.  it's gotten    HOT   and there is an algae,  that's a nicer word than scum.  but there's that that needs to be dealt with at least every other day.  although the water itself appears to be pretty clear,  the Goats will stand there, staring into their bowls as if to forsee the future…staring staring staring…  They LOVE brand new clean and spiffy water tubs.  and I LOVE to watch them, after scrubbing them out and then filling filling filling with the hose and they line up, sometimes nice and sometimes not so nice but they wait and then drink…their lips submerged and forming an o like the orifice of a straw and they DRAW in water, loooong, loooong, looooong until it is Enough and then look Up at me.  my heart beats with this exchange…  i just Love to watch them drink.

The clean white cabinets and the faux chocolate saltillo tiles look good together; changes the whole look of the kitchen but I hope you still have the collage.
Goats drinking and then after being satiated looking at you in thankfulness, I know, I know, not supposed to get emotional about them but how can you not…
And Celia, dear 104 year old Celia. There is something about women named Celia…I just may want to change my name !

there was something written somewhere by someone
    about a Wolf
    about slaking it’s thirst
    to slake one’s thirst
    to slake Their Thirst
yes. i think maybe if there is a doe goat born
    maybe Celia for her.
    Celia. Sky.

i am here today catching up. i have loved the conversations. i have agreed about the need to be here for the story..not the cloth. the cloth is great but it is the stories i love to hear. it is still amazing to me that we came here to learn to stitch and we found a community.
i used those tiles in my kitchen when i bought my little house. they worked great and never wore out till the next floor was put in.
i am not stitching on new cloth yet. too much right now. it will happen when it does. it is closer.
    love to you

Everything is brimfull and brim FULL in your universe BRIM FULL and flowing beautiful beauty just like it oughta. Golly you convey love lavishly with an economy of word…so i’m sharing an unfinished poem I’ve been playing with for a day or two–next, i’m off to the farm market to get basil starts to plant in a long box at the church garden (pruned for three hour yesterday and stuff is really about to burst)…Eeeeee for awhile, E forever!
    Summer Morning
    Under a habitual comforter, still
    unwilling to relinquish that weight,
she tosses in the too bright light.
Those aging eyes, their fading sight
recoiling, want shade, a cooling glade
where none grow, but in her dreams.
    Dreams don’t dream by themselves.
The dreamer paints an arctic night,
    constructing what she’s never seen.
It pleases her to lie still, imagining
    Winter’s constellation–a great bear
plodding to his cave for hibernation,
drops the dipper into waves of color
    that evaporate to feathery, swirling
    trails, sating his unbearable thirst.

good morning. kitchen’s looking very nice. it will be easy to keep clean for your milk/cheese activities and actually i quite like the shine on the tile. adds a dimension of light. when i first saw the pic of the chore boys, i thought you were going to use them to scuff up the tile–but appreciate that they’re for the goats water. i remember in the winter–we had a tank de-thawer thing that floated on top of the water to keep it from freezing. the goats would not drink out of it. too weird for their tastes. but they spent long moments staring at the strange thing.

For curved animal bowls/troughs, I bought a brush at the car shop that’s for cleaning magwheels.
its brissly and tubular. And perfect for swishing inside bowls/troughs.Made my life a lot easier 😉

I like watching the chickens drink too. They are so enthusiastic about food, but seem so thankful for the water.

so i am outside in huge humidity and lots of green..most of it invasive..oh i could use the goats for an hour..i love it when we move the goats each week in vermont..and they discover a new small world to explore and devour…and so nicely clear for us they are in rotation with the chickens and the pigs…and it really is amazing to watch..
anyway loving your anticipation, loving the kitchen changing before my eyes .. knowing the anticipation of milk….there is good music on and i sit down for a break and am transported by nat and the phillipines and i keep going back to stare at Sarosh messenger of the gods and then i come here and read that “you are in deep love with the wold around you”…and do not think at all that nance meant world….i simply immediately placed you/her your creations to a wold…” a piece of high, open unculitivated land “..in reality i know it usually refers to a moor , to chalk and limestone..not to the land you inhabit grace…but i it didn’t really matter..
it just made me smile a few minutes later when the change to world popped up…because this space you have created, where we share this planet..where you talk about laying fibers across the terraine..where the reality of celia/ciel meet….it just was a lovely lot of vision to start my day….may your day be full of such delight..many thank yous xox much cynthia

I love your desription of the drinking goats;-)
Tungsten drinks with his tongue, flip flipping into the water, making splosh sounds; sometimes he prefers his bowl clean, other times he’ll only drink outdoors: a mix of tap and rain water in the non-too-clean bowl. Best of all are the puddles and ditch waters on our walks.

it’s the THING of Wind here. blowing bits of stuff to
float on the surface. sometimes happens right after i’ve
changed the water. they WILL drink with stuff floating,
but not deep and long like they do if it’s CLEAN…
it is truly a sacred thing, water.

i would give anything for these Goats to live like yours do. and well i might., give anything. might be at some point again asked to. ohhh. part in why i am so watching you as you make your changes.
the idea a year plus or so ago was to find some ACRES in
    N. California and take them there. i worked so hard to
be able/ready to leave Here and go. and it fell through and now the relief of Staying. but her dream is still N. Cal.
maybe i will need to go through all that again?????
who knows????? but for the Goats to be FREE like that….
