a day.  actually sticking the tiles on.  before that, finish painting.  Painting the little wall, by the morning chair, in front to the side of the Wood Stove.  of no consequence in this season.  or……???

there is Wind today.  Good Wind.  Strong but Good.  i tried to catch the movement of it in these pics, but no…each leaf is caught…still…

there are many Mallows.  mostly pink.  some orange.  outside the fence, a White one.

i like to smoke cigarettes.  i roll my own.

on that small wall, by the Morning Chair, near the Wood Stove, that i painted today

now hangs this.  just two layers…a damask, dyed with something out There, i don't remember, and under that some tea dye harem cloth.  the damask has some sort of monogram in the center but backwards, you can't decipher.  i started to kantha it.

What if i did this, kantha this, instead of smoking cigarettes?  What would that be

like?

Quite smitten with the little fox-like creature sticking out of your box of letters, next to the tobacco can. He and Saskia’s tree are demanding a lot of attention in that pic.
Can kantha be a substitute for smoking I wonder? Why not?
Tomorrow will be 100… a third of the way through, mostly. How ’bout that?

Oh those grassed, the undead tree, and all those wonderful mallow are lush in their way…lush and verdant despite the heat. What grows just likes where it is. That new cloth looks like a diagram of sorts, or a star chart. Nice to have a new canvas up. Love that.
I wish American Spirit made the ultra light tobacco for tins. I used to roll my own. Perhaps kantha work could be a substitute for tobacco. If they’re both grounding devices, it would make sense, and of course, if you simply decide that kantha is a no smoking event. I know certain activities obliterate the urge for me, but they are more physically full bodied actions for the most part, like yoga, walking, gardening. heavy house cleaning, singing or chanting with others too. Also, when I visit others, I go outside to smoke, so that cuts it down naturally.

such a quiet sense of happiness seeing a new cloth up on your wall…and your images bring warmth and light into a damp gray morning…it is so impossibly different…such a huge diverse country ….but we do both have mallows growing..
you are the third very strong woman i have run across recently with a tin of american spirit..the other two have fairly intense and different amounts of tobacco in their llves..and use it pretty differently…i have no idea of how this what if would work ..would it change the amount of kantha very greatly…the more kantha the very much better…huge personal prejudice here..i will always come down on the side of more kantha..
the bull calf became a steer yesterday..three more days and the world here will shift agin, north….but for just this minute, this cup of coffee, i am content here, enjoying your far away garden…may this day bring you many small similar spaces xox much cynthia

I see nostrils, a mouth, and an ear? in this latest cloth. Perhaps a dog’s face, with short, terrier like ear? I will love to see what speaks to you and how it Becomes.
The mallow is beautiful – your place looks so lush. I suspect it may not last for long. Stay as comfortable as you can. If it’s 90 here, it’s over 100 there? Oy.

it’s about intent don’t you think? paying attention to what you are doing right now in this moment, if you want to smoke then smoke with intent & enjoy it, if you want to stitch then stitch with intent and enjoy it, it’s not about substitutes it’s about being aware of what you are doing…
