kept wanting to use this scrap.  silk blouse/thrift shop.  why? don't know.  but it didn't fit.  but then, turn it, add that piece to bottom, again silk clothing scrap/thrift shop.  this is good.  Lizard cloth.  i think.

and i was swooning about in Christi's June Garden ,  Sweet Pea Path.  oh.  just O H….to behold such voluptiousness.   and here, tho,

my one dear singular elegant zinnia.  Deb Lacativa had sent me a baggie of seeds.  which i combed into the Child Buddha's garden very early, then watched, totally conflicted as a troup of finches, searching for very very early spring nourishment,  Pillaged.   so, now, this One who must have hidden.

and maybe these "rocks" ?

i spent a lot of time looking for sites about making a goat cheese that is in jars with olive oil and spices/herbs.  i would use sunflower oil.

looking for sites with music from Nigeria

looking for sites about loading buck goats into transport crates

Love the colors in this cloth – serene.
Please take a picture of this beauty when it blooms! Perhaps it will spread enough of its own seeds when the bloom is spent, to both give birdies something to eat and produce some friends for next year.
And, in answer to your question of yesterday, yes, it is beautiful here in Santa Fe. We finally got some rain and it cooled off wonderfully, especially at night. Heat coming back soon, though. I only hope we get more rain soon, as well.

I don’t know where those rogue zinnias came from because it was not a plant I would start from seed in a deck pot but I let them grow…and this year, not a one! BUT there are hollyhocks and sunflower, more seeds I will send for next season, you and the birds.

i will welcome the more seeds for next season, maybe
think how to plant them when the birds are not looking?
this zinnia, tho, isn’t she a Beaut????
i squat there, each evening when i water and admire Her.
    Love to you….

birds love those tender zinnias. it helps to start them in pots indoors or cover them and let them get their second set of leaves first. i use those plastic baskets that berried come in.

i have NEVER started flowers inside…wouldn’t even have
    thought to do it…????
    hmmmmm.
well, i’ll save (if i can, those finches are still
hanging around this year) every seed from this Queen
and now that she is familiar with New Mexico….
    after all, she came from
    Georgia

Research is a good thing. 🙂 I start most things like zinnias in 4 inch containers, either inside or outside depending on the season and then plant them in the ground. Only beans and peas are directly seeded. Otherwise I lose too much…birds, slugs, dogs…

no comments about goat transport. today I passed a BIG hillside of grazing goats at a recently developed BIG multifamily housing site.
3 hours later they were still munching. they will probably be there for days.

Jennie…isn’t that just the best to see, a hillside of Goats,
Working. they are using them more and more. and how great is
this, leaving the root systems in the soil to prevent erosion, to
add compost nutrients. keep watching and let me know how long
    it took them.
    they are very efficient.
    and,
    AND,
    thank you for coming by…..xo

research:., i like it when some one else does it and tells
    me…a HUGE amount of Time…
flowers. well, back in the beginning here, i had a LOT
of zinnias in two beds either side of the walkway.
    then…no flowers. only flowering bushes.
then, i said the diamond bed was for the Child Buddha, and
this somehow said it was ok for flowers, some….and i
wanted the flower seeds sent to me to grow…but really,
in consecutive 100 plus degrees….flowers are like, well
…well, i am going to think more about flowers.
What is at a total and complete premium here in the Middle Rio Grande Valley of New Mexico is
    Water.
Rain. Snow Pack in the mountains.
    Water.
i am thinking HARD again about things like
    water.
    here, beans, peas and squash.
i need to do the July planting of Squash in the
    soon coming days. it’s time.
and tonight, as i write this, i’d like to plant something
that would ward off Fireworks. 4th of July “celebration”
of exploding things that animals CANNOT UNDERSTAND and
    are sensitive to.
i guess i actually HATE two things. bloodsuckers, leaches, and fireworks. oh well, she says

I like the circles of this cloth and the researching…so interesting to me what I search out online…but also so time consuming. Like the circles and circles. Hope to see the beauty of this flower opened 🙂

Very valid concern about flowers. Even here I’m very selective about what I will grow that needs water. We will have very little rain for the next 2 months. With you on the fireworks. I now know conclusively that Briar has lost hearing. It’s the first fourth that she hasn’t had the dog version of a panic attack for hours on end. The city I live in has finally passed an ordinance banning personal fireworks within city limits. Takes effect next year.

Planting zinnias etc… I just heard about someone who saves toilet paper rolls. Cuts them in half and uses them to plant seeds. They eventually decompose so you just put the whole thing in the ground. I guess you put them on a tray of some sort and fill them with soil. Also… Why. Sunflower oil? Olive oil is good for you. And it tastes good. If its expense, maybe half and half. Today I will research for you.

I love love love to research…I really miss those term paper days when I was allowed to take the bus downtown to the Big Library, writing out all kinds of notecards, hunting down old microfilm (you all remember THAT), the detective work. Anyway, send me your questions! Last night at a little barbeque here, we looked into what kind of post and rail fences stumped the Confederate army here at Gettysburg, why exactly it is called “bone china,” and what is the piccolo piece everyone hears on fourth of July. Probably we need more to drink.
