Juror:
"i think she felt inadequate toward everyone because of her education and her communication skills.  I just felt sadness for her"

i think she exercised incredible restraint with an innate urge for Truth,  for Honesty,  for Un Pretentiousness.   Inadequate?, oh….oh, no.  a very Adequate Young Woman.    i saw a very Real, very very Adequate young woman.  i want her to go anywhere she possibly might imagine wanting to in her life.

It’s stunning how revealing this is, isn’t it? This juror a) could not see her own inability to understand this witness as her own limitation, and b) was fine with not asking for clarification. It’s a dizzying display that privilege can mean never having to work on your end of the bridge, never having to acknowledge how little you know.
    THAT is inexcusable inadequacy.

    very well said wendy.
and grace, i love that you are affected and your heart and passion so involved here and i love that you feel brown , feel human. cormac’s words, as noted by mo, are beautiful and wise . still, i dont think that cormac himself is at peace or happy with the state of his country which is no country for old men . i think it was the band “fallout boy’ who said, ” if you’re not at least a little depressed, you’ re not paying attention .” paying attention and saying I Object when you do object is a valuable thing, we, more of us, might make a difference if we did it more often .
