Lucky Star's little Red buck.  he is either like this, nose in camera or hanging under L S off a teat.  it seems he suckles all the time, or is trying to .  he will be wethered and go with his sister Celia who
is very difficult to photograph because she spends her time climbing on my back, chewing my
hair.
They are  5 weeks old.  3 more and they can go.

getting close.  tomorrow will tell.  my job got cancelled so i can continue.  i will spend a long time looking here once i get it.   what i learn from this will apply over and over again, so i am grateful for the angst of it.  there's no other way to learn.

    Congratulations on a very fine eggplant. Ratatouille and Parmesan . One of my favorite dinners. You really do seem to almost have the lizard captured. Congratulations on that too! And one more day to stitch lucky you. Been a long day here.xo

    when i moved here, i tried lots of stuff. (20 something
    years ago) and what provided the most money for hours of
    my Life given was house cleaning. over time, i established
    a good clientele here…almost all from the local College
    in town. at one time, i cleaned 12 houses. not every week but every other week usually. so…say 6 a week.
    When i turned 62, i bought in to Social Security….it
    was just before the election and i was concerned about what would happen if Republicans got in….maybe i would have to work FOREVER?????
    Since then, i kept two real cleaning jobs. one every other week. one has been for over 10 years…i never know, and one almost that long. both take me about 2 and a half hours. $65. no one is home. it’s nice. i love both of the homes. i know the homes. they are like
    Beings to me. i know them by heart. then, there’s the
    Old Cowboy who began as a cleaning job and turned into something else Entirely. that’s every other week, the
    cleaning and a lot less $. and all the rest i do for
    no money. and still, Alz B. the mother of one of the
    persons whose houses i clean. i used to clean for her
    and as she fell to Alzheimers, i did more. Now, the
    family, which is scattered around the United States, still pays me $4o to visit her at the Old Folks Home, keep track of her there, her physical stuff, her decline. In August, her son will be pretty much gone and i am listed as Next of Kin and so pretty much will be “on call” for whatever decisions need to be made. and i took another
    cleaning job not too long ago, another hydrologist, single
    man. that takes me about an hour. $45.
    these jobs pay for the Goats. their feed comes to close
    to $3oo a month.
    i get almost $7oo a month Social Security. that is a
    comfortable “Enough” for how i live….Sans Goats. the
    Goats, remember, were a Surprise last year. they are
    my daughter’s Goats, mostly. i had not expected that.
    but…here we are. and so…..
    Even though i MIGHT give up these “jobs”…and i don’t
    know if i would…i LIKE them, really, i NEED them
    right now to support our ECONOMY (thanks Wendy) here.
    i devote usually Monday and Tuesday to it all…squash it
    in. and then have the rest for Living my Life. it’s
    good.
    i might Rather support the Goats with Art. but that hasn’t happened. so, i need to accept that and keep on
    keeping on.
    yes…and i didn’t take a pic of Starling. i want her.
    she is the little dark bucks sister. a beautiful dark
    girl and so gentle and loving. but i will need to sell
    one of daughter’s Goats if i keep her. big decision.
    when i am nearing the finish of this Lizard Cloth, i might talk more about these Whiptails….they are SO much a part of my life here, so much a part of what i feel about this Place. i love them so much

    is interesting to anyone else. unless someone asks.

    isn’t it? i felt bad about the tomatoe but as i see
    it here in the pic, not so bad any more. i’d dropped
    it on the floor. a lot of dog and cat hair…so
    gave it to the compost bowl

    the dark boy is beautiful.
    like a good dark compost.
    my eggplants are just coning too.
    i most grow the ichiban, the small japanese ones.
    but i have one plant, the big ones.
    fun to watch then grow.

    Nogal, walnut., the dark boy. yes he is. beautiful. don’t know
    what to do. he carries Buckwheat’s beingness, so works with
    this herd. and if Jenny takes her herd, that would be Tenzen too,
    so having kept Nogal would have been a good decision. hmmmm.
    and he is by nature, gentle. and i have worked to keep it that
    way for him. learned that from Buckwheat, who Wanted to be, but
    couldn’t because he’d not had enough constant contact as a kid.
    but all this swirls around them being producing DAIRY herd and
    that’s a big decision. i don’t know.
    i love the big ones for all the Indian food i love and the
    Baba ganoosh. they have been very STRONG through this early
    season intense heat. other things, cucumbers, fell to it but
    they held their own

    I love looking at these babies. So anticipated and waited for. They are growing so quickly. And the cloth. I am enchanted by the thread webbing on the upper moon. Perhaps they are just threads waiting to be used, but I want to stitch them into place there…

    i’m seeing umbilicals every where. from the moon to earth, down the back of whiptail, one tying into the arcs around the center sphere. and even the stem of the leaf print. it’s all pulsing with life.

    pulse
    i remember learning long ago about sending out filaments…
    visualizing that, sending filaments and touching the place of
    pulse on the Other…in those days it was my son…i touched
    the place of pulse on his wrist

    my family all love eggplant, what we call aubergine; we make aubergine sandwiches with griddled aubergines, hummous, fried onion and rocket eaten in a toasted ciabatta bread. Aubergine fritters, pakora, parmigiana, moussaka and ratatouille are all firm favourites.
    and it is ALL interesting, you, goats, lizards, cloth, compost, wind, sky….all of your life really
