suddenly,  i understood.   because of having drawn,  with graphite,  lizards so many many times before, i could not make that transition to cloth.  because of having Seen them, so many many times For Real,  for real as in a photograph,  i could not make the transition.

the person changed her mind and i DID go to work today, but i rushed home….i am so engrossed with this cloth…rushed home and have worked on it for some hours until suddenly i understood what i was doing and why it wasn't working.

so…this is good.  i will leave her now while i work on the stones and the grasses, on that personal moon,  on the Universal Moon that watches over All of Us…

this has been just GREAT and great and wonderful and i know so much more now than when i began.

BIG storm just behind the Rim.  off computer.

it's not here yet.  i want to make Mango Chutney.  Pray that they ripen

    Mmmm…mango chutney!
I love the way your whip tail lizard is camouflaged by the ground.
Hope the storm is cooling and healing.

The way the light glows on the fruit is so beautiful and other worldly… It could be a composition sitting on the sideboard in one of vermeers paintings… I have always loved still lifes . You really do have a rich life. Just the way you see things and then present them to us. Thank you.
And this will be a beautiful piece when it is finished… Is it sold?

grace dear i saw this and thought you might get a chuckle out of it. Not goats but close, and in Tasmania where i lived for many years.

and that observation towards the end… that you know so much more now than when you began…that in itself, to me, is worth every thing.

In yesterday’s comments, you expressed your surprise that anyone would want to know the backstory of you. Gee whiz, girl. So I am using that as an opening to oh so tentatively raise my hand and say that I really want to know how you wound up in Polvadera with goats. I get the big picture of your Journey but I have read your blog all the way from the beginning and your present life seems to involve california, a ttrailer, a daughter and lord knows what else. But I cant piece it all together, avid mystery reader though I am. And even though my husband calls me Gladys Kravitz, Grace has given me permission to ask aloud!

Oh I spend some time thinking about that transition too, paper and pencil to cloth. Your translation is always beautiful. I love your lizards and your eye for light, grace. The fullness and shadow of the mangoes is beautiful. Happy chutney.

Love this–the I got it moment. And I’m looking at that print cloth again. The stem mirrors the graceful twist of a lizard’s body.
