so into the juice.  and really, not for long at all.  CHANGES.

i put pieces in that i most likely would not have used in their original state.  and with the overdye, was startled by Relationship that i would not have imagined before.

IMG_6867f

i put them on this linen/cotton table runner that i found at the thrift shop yesterday.  right now, just pinned.  but i'll very loosly baste them on to document what's happening with the dye experiments.  for now tho, this.  the colors were tweaked.  all except one changed.  the one that didn't is the lower right.  i remained as it was in the beginning.

so…am looking.  looking at how, somehow, there came to be a relationship between them all.  i could very easily use these scraps, all of them.   even, really, the one that didn't change at all…????

trying to see what it IS that really changed how i perceive these scraps.  Jude is talking about a Full Spectrum of colors, which would include All colors.  even the ones that i find difficult.  the "pure" colors of the color wheel…primary colors.  how can i be Inclusive?  do i need to be?  do i Want to be?  …..  but for sure, i want to KNOW some things about the need or want.

i like them even better at a distance.  but that's useless, because what i make is close up stuff.  Please ignore the dust.

and i wanted to see what the stick of the Flag might look like.  so i began that.  Wind blew the wind strips around…and it was good.

Yowza ~ am I ever tickled that I stopped by to see if you had floated away with floods! Love the colours after black bean bath. Each piece keeping individuality, but ready to start living together beautifully.
Your “moons flag” is joyfully, laugh-out-loud-delightful!

I love this bean family of cloth. And hey! I found a runner just like that at the thrift store. But mine is a dark olive-ish green.

Lovely little sparkles of colour! This lady reminds me of something, trying to grasp what it is, I think it may be a Japanese film (animated) called Nausica from Studio Ghibli. Going to check. Love, stay dry but enjoy the moisture. They say we will have rain today and there is a metallic sunlight hovering around, strange.

beauty full, Grace. all of it. the pot you used? is that iron or copper? can’t tell. almost ready to sacrifice one of my iron skillets for dyeing–but i guess if i just used it for black beans, i could still use it for cooking.

it is such an ongoing effort for me to just let “weather”
be weather and not need to react to it.
practicing her Look, does seem to be helping
    hope you got wood in

Ah the stitched flag stick is so good on the cloth. Black bean overdyed strips are so organically rich and they could be stepping stones or they could be something else because as I looked at them on your wall that holds so much beauty, they all leaped into the wind currents and attached themselves to the stick, helter skelter looking like flags or kite tails, waving in the wind, the wonderful colors of sky, land and SHE levitated a bit with all of this movement and it was wonderful to see…and she is still floating even though she stands on stones.
And it rained all night and continues as I write this on Fri. the 13th, a little after 5 am and of course, I have a garlic bulb next to my laptop because, well because it is Fri. the 13th and the old ways loom large today…
