This far.  and i wanted to see it here because i can enlarge it best.   The right side now.

so…i printed it and drew on a stem of grass, one long leaf blade.   What if i did this.   the cloth is about Water.  about Sky Water that becomes River.   and Water, Sky Water here is symbolized to me by wild Grasses,  Native Grass,  high desert prairie grasses  that are as basic to Life here as Earth and Sky.  they  dot the Horizon,  like beings, like sentinals.  live in community.  Wait when there is Nothing,  Appear magically when they can.  Grasses.  They feed so many Beings with their seed and hold the fragile Earth together with their roots.

so  a Grass.  i think so.

am going to make tomatillo salsa while drinking wine.  Go out and rake the dry things from last week and think about this.  but i'm pretty sure.

LATER:

the wrappings.  next to a tomato.

Tomatillos, halved, rinsed and naked  in the broiler pan

my hand, as i type this, exudes the fragrance of cilantro, onion and garlic.  a little later,  the Goats noted this.  Noted that Shesmellslikethesethings.  Their nostrils flared.

on the way….

IMG_7044f

raked up weed stems and dog shit.  into a pile.  in the middle of the "drive way",  where it can be burned.

i am verrrry happy today.  things are OK today.  they have not been perfect.  but no need to talk of the imperfection.  Generally,  Stuff was/is Good.

so…O.K.

I might have mentioned this before, here, but I’m intrigued with the fact that humans and grass came onto the planet at the same time. We obviously need eachother, and, we both have a way of going a bit wild if not rained in…

Hi Grace, Oh I do love this. I very much identify with this whole story as the quality of our home life is determined by the status of rain and our river which floods every year. How exquisite to see this element of your life expressed in such a beautiful way. By the by, we have finally figured out the internet issue…I bet you thought I’d fallen off the edge of the earth….email to come next week to you. Are you having a lovely Fall ?

All of feeds so many and SO MUCH…the thoughts that feed words, the feeling hidden in the words, the lines of script and stitch…all a kind of nourishment to me, three flights up in this City. Thanks.

Well, the rained on thing was just me making up a story, but I do believe that evolutionarily, grasses became a thing at the same time as humans. So, I don’t know if that means, humanoids and all, I think it might. Anyway, I’m fuzzy on it, but that is the fact I remember. It struck me at the time that I read it.

i always think of Martine…at her window there, far,
on another continent, but looking through the lense of
her camera…i always like to think she is focusing
right here…on me, the lizards, now the Goats….

from here too. it seems just fine.
i just came in from separating them. tonight it went so
easily and i sang, the dark time changing places song, each of their names as they went and parts with their mother’s
names, their names being the only Words, the rest, just
sounds and well, sounds….and it was all soft and good and i asked them to help me Know how it can best go for them and also asked that they know about giving milk. i held each
kid and sang just to them before putting them Through and
tonight they were all quiet and ok and fat stomached and warm and as i write this now, i smell like them and it’s a very very good smell. a warm young Goat smell.
