a tooth had fallen out.  actually a while ago.  but today i went to get it glued back in.    and then many more small stitches.  and an overcast day, clouds scudding here to there all day.  Sun a hazy mostly hidden orb.  and i had to go let dogs out and feed this early eve…it's only 5:30 now and

dark

so…took camera

I come here every night before I go to bed, Grace. And tonight’s walk was just what I had been thinking I wish I could do, maybe tomorrow I thought, to relieve some underlying crankiness. But then there was all this, esp “the way out.” It was, for me.

julie…thanks BIG for saying this. i always wonder
about these kind of nothing much posts. and probably
would have never posted this if it weren’t for the Every
Day Vow. so..i love this…and that you hooked to
“the way out” in the way you did…
it validates the thing about the reality of just nothing
much, that it is really something enough. it’s what
was. and it was beautiful. i wish it hadn’t started to
rain. would have spent longer with pics of the llama
    family.
truth is too, that no one knew the gender of Cookie and
Coquette. or their age. they were Sale Barn beings…a
place north of here in Belen that is just that. a big
barn with an arena where animals are driven into to mill
around anxiously while being bid on. a way mostly for people to get RID of unwanted livestock.
and here they are. in this huge and spacious place, a
little family. when i left, they had gone far out and were lying together under some trees from the rain. it was very peacefull and Good. i’m glad you felt that.

echoing this. . .it is a blessing to mark each day. we so often think that nothing has happened. but you saw everything. the sky. the light. the inhabitants of place. and that is worth recording. especially in your elegant way.

these “nothing much” posts are the ones, for me, the really resonate with richness. and here the story is the light, the vistas, the grass and cottonwood, the highway and low-way, the fencing, the road signs and rr crossing, the sky, the cedar being–and oh, the llamas. i can see them cribbing in the magic light. so you see, there is a tremendous amount of so-muchness here and it’s all seed for our souls. thank you dear Grace.

Sometimes I come at night, sometimes in the morning, but I’ve noticed that I really slow down with your blog, look closely, read thoughtfully. Breathe. You just have a way of sharing it… And the comments add to it. Thank you all for being here.

Add me to the list of nightly checkers here. I checked last night but too early and just had to drop back to bed. Not quite well yet…so this afternoon I’m drinking in the light like a thirsty animal, loving the Llama family rescued from obscurity, and YOU, divine Grace.

In her amazing book “How the Light Gets in”, Pat Schneider reminds us to keep starting with the light – what was the quality of the light?…

Absolutely. It’s been a really long time since I’ve had a book resonate so strongly with me. I’m on my second read – just so I can mark passages. I picked up the one you’ve been reading and am savoring it as well.

for me, the comments are the WHOLE of the experience.
they mirror for me things i cannot see myself. and
they give me a Place to put what i love.
another way to say it is
YOU and EVERYONE who reads here give me a place to
    put what i love
and i am very grateful for that.

looking with you and Everyone, i begin to understand
the significance of Small Looking. thinking that it’s not
much of anything, really, i put these pics here because
they are really, all i have of a day.
    but then
i look at them WITH you and look again.
