a very young dust spider has found a perfect place for first web…the Dalai Lama table.

a first.   Tazmeena the cat doesn't hesitate.  but she's never done this before.   she has access to all soft and comfortable surfaces and chose this afternoon to lie on THEIR pillow.  Selfish, we're thinking………….

and how many birds indicate Migration????  there were more,  i took them away.  but now, not enough.  How Many?  easy enough…they are marked by 3 stitches.  body with head and tail feathers,  two wings.  but how many is too many?  how many is too few?

and then.  Can a moon be in the Center?  why do moons tend to be put in an upper corner????  But what does it say, that this moon might be right there in the middle of it all????  Anything? Something?  Nothing?

and then,

this.

Jennann, when i mentioned reading the book that India suggested,  World Enough and Time, ,,, spoke of this one.   How the Light Gets In.  there is a great temptation to write about the experience of reading this here.  i was ready to, really,  but i hesitate.  it is really in it's way, inappropriate.  it goes places.  and to write about that here would i think be Self Indulgent.

and really…if you have already written Volumes,  (me)    either as a writing discipline or in a Journaling way about your childhood, about Who you are and How you came to be that….and if you have arrived at some kind of Peace with it all….i would hesitate to suggest it.  She,  Pat Schneider,  goes Further.

and she writes about writing.  about written word.  about going Further in order to Write Well.

BUT as i read it,  whenever she references writing…whether it be poetry, fiction, or whatever,  i found self substituting

cloth making

because as i read, i realize that Cloth Making for me is a spiritual practice.

so…i don't know.

There are a lot of amazing books about writing that I have replaced the word writing with painting… it always works. Migration, I think, can happen when one bird flies from summer home to winter. Moons in the center are lovely. I’ve painted many, many of them there – and suns – kids usually put them in the corners, do adults, too?

i think it doesn’t matter how many birds, but i want an odd number for some reason. i do think of the moon as a center actually. and i don’t read much so well i sew more.

I need to read everyday. As much as I need to eat. Sometimes it isn’t much, but it does happen every day. And I know it’s really cold when the cat is curled up with the dogs…

yes. the cat with the dogs. i still don’t know what to
think of that. Neither do the dogs. the pillow is just behind the wood stove…where is the most heat in this SHELTER. and a day with no
    SUN
she is so good at finding the single Sun Beam.
Today…no Sun Beam. hense, this invasion.

As for the cat and dogs together, well, I see family, not a problem. I had one cat used to sleep on the big dogs neck. I note the discrete space between them, and that’s a sign to me that they have made whatever compromise was needed. It’s all about warmth I think, and a sweet picture.
Moon rising says East to me, setting says West…so wherever moon is placed indicates direction to me. Of course, the artist can set moon anywhere she feels it ought to be, regardless of direction.
Pat Schneider is the woman who began the Amherst Method that my regular group uses in our Monday sessions…prompt and responses. A lot less about critical writing than creative flow.
Cloth story is just coming along nicely.

I love odd numbers of things hence three on a pillow looks perfect…does the migration need just one more..a straggler, way back but still part of ??

what is writing …. just thoughts that came in you….write is set them down… so you can see them for yourself or for those who read them at there moment … even me…you .
Light is always in you/me… exept there are still clouds who cover the light, just ecsept it and knew the light dissolve them … it will be … if yuo let it happen … it takes his own time
look at the sun , it’s the same way … the game with the sunlight and the clouds ….
the LIGHT IS THERE … and shines always because it is wath it is …
    Light
i have see it in your words
    i respect you
i embrace you from out here a cloudy grey sky

This morning the light is coming in from the snow that has fallen almost all over New Mexico and that snow has made me smile, lit me from within and that is a good thing. The day is fresh, like a new blank canvas, a blank page, a newly mordanted cloth waiting to become a story…we can work daily life into whatever form we use to portray our wold, our moment on this day, in this space in time…

brrr! it’s cold there! sending a warm summer breeze from the Land Down Under through the ether, love the migration, beautiful work… if I wanted more in the flock I would make 13 for the 13 moons each year but that’s just me, your eyes, hands and heart show the way.
