one side of the kantha accomplished.  this pic late in the day.  so decided to see what the flash would do ….  usually nothing good, but….

and remember,  it needed to be ok in any direction.   and looking at these,  i think it is.  somehow the flash made it….uhhhh,  flatter?   easier to see almost.  and i think it's ok.

and i think i realize that i am looking for a way to Feel about how things are going, or seem to be going for the Planet,  for humanity,  and that i was unable to feel grounded  once i  "moved" out side of my own Place here,  that there seemed to be such a disconnect…and the last few Cloths have been an effort to find some way to be ok with this disconnect ,  and Just Go anyway.

i think this one is that effort,  that  movement that i need to translate into Doing.   i hope the Thinking about it becomes clearer as i finish the kantha.  but if it's something that can't be THOUGHT,  then, at least i have an image.  a cloth image.  so..maybe this is a Cloth Thought?

    With praise, I bow to each of the four directions, applaud the balance of flying diversity as the many strands shoot off to edges, and salute the subtle solidity of the kantha holding these images. The center holds no matter which way the cloth is viewed. Your cloth seems to be thinking out loud.

    I just love how you describe how the cloth pieces are attempts at staying in touch with where and who you are, despite all that is happening on our planet and over which you nor I have any control;
    in this way making art is one of the qualities we as humans possess with which we can offer one another comfort, joy and an insight into that which matters to us;
    I also like how Michelle has phrased it:’your cloth seems to be thinking out loud’ exactly

    i love this cloth. love this cloth. love the movement, the reaching, the overlaps and inter weavings. the convergence in the center–where all the pieces tie in to each other and then go. so much here. Michelle said it so perfectly. and i love that each rotation of the cloth opens a new potential. ooooooooooooooo

    my eyes see a most successful flight of many fibers and threads reaching out…each turn of the cloth present another “view” of this flight…each turn rests well with the eyes of the viewer…success is seen by me in your desire to have all presentations balanced and visually comfortable, different, inviting and just going along the way …most wonderfully.

    This cloth is amazing but for me personally I love it best the way it is in the first two pictures where is looks to me like the wildish woman who is in us all somewhere, the wild side of the earth mother.

    A lovely cloth. For those of us who live in NM, it could also represent the wind here.

    yes, for sure. when WIND is winding, there is little or NO seperation of land and Wind…it all becomes one, and
    maybe here is a
    Key

    My understanding of your work and style is that you “know” in your hands as you stitch..it is an evolving process, organic and responding to the fibers in the fabric you use, the stitches you make…from my perspective your ability to “listen” and to “feel” the life of each piece you stitch brings comfort visually…and your sense of where pieces fit and what stitch to use comes as you “see and feel” the balance in the story unfolding.
    This process of your work in fiber often astonishes me…how so much story is there as you move ahead with the work. Your land, your gardens, the goats you care for, each of those bits of your journey shared in your writing has that energy of aliveness and pure soul connection to all that is. Love you sweet sister and so appreciate this knowing that sings out to me with a strong voice of just being.

    your words say such beauty Full things and tonight, as i
    sit here, waiting for the two logs in the fire to settle,
    i feel so small. so really small.
