a medium pitch buzzing sound when i try to download pics from picasa.   Usually it stops in a short time.    i just turn off the computer for a while.   Tonight,  it kept up.   So i just went to lay down  in my beloved bed.   But found self

waiting.

and here i am.  Creature of habit,  wanting to finish off this day,  as i do.

back to the Mallow of yesterday.  Today,  i looked.   Saw how it is the Year of the Mallow, evidently.  It is Strong,  and coming up everywhere.   So take note of that.  Not knowing Why…but taking note.

Spent the day Bare Foot.   Foot palms to the Earth.   Walking the Rim.   Ordinarily,  i refer to the Rim as the western horizon because that is what i can see as the edge of the planet unimpeded.  But today,  i focused on the fact that really,  I am on the rim.   There is nothing between me and Sky.  I am on the Rim,  as i go about the day.  The very edge.  Bare Foot.

and i took a pic of this Plant Person…over in front of the Albatros.  I keep walking around it,  noticing it.  But today took the pic.  Might be Milkweed?   There was an urge to spray it to make it more clear,  but the water would also excite any of the GoatHeads that are lying there,  waiting for water and i don't want to do that.  So, a dusty vague image.

Sunday:  Goatheads are little spikey seeds that are of Puncturevine,  Tribulis terrestris L.  which can lay dormant 4-5 years but receiving just the most small amount of water….Grow.   the seeds look exactly like  goat heads.

and a second Altar.  right now only that Mother of Thousands plant that i didn't want but was given even tho i said i didn't want it.  and  i brought in a pot to put Dill in.   And the scurs of Goat.   For now,  just these.

Sunday:…i forgot to say the rock that i got in Magdalena.  this too.  it was first, before the scurs.

and over it, just to the right so many bells

IMG_8960ff

and here,  my most loved shirt.  well,  probably,  not exactly sure,  most loved.   But close enough.  Plenty here for more Butterflies.   Plenty.   I wore this shirt forever.  But now,  i don't seem to wear anything that……well,  …..attracts attention.   I go incognito.   So,  tho it is the most magnificant shirt,  it can become Butterflies.

I took out another stenographers notebook.  Thinking i will use it to record stuff of the Planet,  the Earth here.   Because of that buzzing sound.  In case.   In  case  the computer blows up.   But then i think….Why?  Does it really matter?   Thinking.

I looked everywhere i could think of today for Word of the Planet.  like word of the Planet TODAY.   No news.   it's all from last year at best.

There is this  Indescribable Love and a Great Great Sorrow.   a Tangle.   This is what i Live.

You could look at rain in the one minute video on my most recent post, or maybe over at EarthSky.Org (can’t make it copy with link. Maybe a day without news is just right. Anyway, that buzzin is likely some electrical connection on their end and will clear… I looked at the church garden and don’t see signs of the ancient, flamboyent mallow yet. But, it’s time will come again. I’m seeing so much better with the new lens that everything seem 10X brighter. I know that tangle of love and sorrow well (my version)–or like May Sarton said: “We go up to heaven and down to hell fifty times a day….”. I, however, can not go barefoot in this city without risking injury. That shirt is going to make some mighty fine butterflies to set your bells ringing I think! How good to have wild roses in bloom–they are the sweetest ones.

i so like the bare feet..yesterday we walked down the whole hill to the end of the meadow..barefooted..it was so warm after the epic rain of the whole night before…i love this walk and it may disappear for awhile..yesterday we finished fencing the meadow and now it is almost ready for the cows to come down..we have so much suddenly green grass and up on the mountain at breezy meadows they are still cold and wet and running low on hay…so down they will come..and i guess i will learn about cows
which is neither here nor there..i just was happy thinking about all the different surfaces of the earth are represented here..how many different places bare feet could walk..or not walk…yesterday here, the wet wet grass and then such sun warmed slate..my rim a hollow and a rocky slope
i filled the screen with your shirt…and it was quite wonderful…happy day to you..

it took me a while to find this link–but it came to mind immediately while i was counting your toes. the amazing healing powers of the earth–and how it’s easily accessible through the “palms of feet.”
the first 4.5 minutes are slow, but then it gets very interesting
    located it on youtube–“Grounded”

the buzzing is either the hard drive or the internal fan. barefoot here means ticks, now a big scare about deer ticks, which means Lyme disease. barefoot on the deck is my limit these days.

yours might be different, but the ticks i know, from TONS of
them in Minnesota and then some years here too…not much…but
some….they hop, well, Fling themselves onto clothing and then
head for some tender fold of skin…arm pit, groin, behind an
ear. that tender place behind a little boy’s scrotum. bare feet would not interest them. they want warmth.
and internal fans. yup. that had occured to me. will dust today.

I don’t know why I stopped, but I am back to reading Active Hope by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone again. And this, some food for thought here:

    your Rain
is so foreign to me. nothing like that here except during
    Monsoon.
the buzzing is This Computer…comes from the “box” it’s in.
it’s a big old fashioned thing.
i am so caught up in how your vision will change over the days…..it’s really a miracle.
maybe you could take off your shoes at a park that has
    grass? just a little?

i looked, Deb. a really great Place, but if i would
look at any of these kinds of sites it would be back to
Sharon Astyk. Having spent a couple years there, i have
great respect for her/her mind. and she has four young
children. a farm. she’s In it to the Heart and more.
What i didn’t make clear is that i was looking for Buddhist thinking on this and more from the First Peoples, like
    Oren Lyons.

I love the idea of walking on the rim. The Dali Lama said something about how we’re never in the present because the future instantly becomes the past. There’s no pause to be the present, no there there. So maybe we’re always walking on the rim, or living on the edge. Even when things are boring.
I love your little pieces. Make them into postcards.

When I was a student in NYC I went barefoot as soon as the weather permitted. I didn’t see a lot of difference in being barefooted in the country. Sometimes you just have to walk, eyes down. People reacted in the strangest ways.
