Ok then.  we've done it.  This isn't anything different.  There is always a strip of 100+ somewhere in May or June and then we settle in to the 90's.  Tomorrow.  90 something.  So, OK.

This is Komatsuna.   A MustardSpinach kind of thing.  For anyone living in hot places where Spinach tends to bolt,  this is just FINE.   From morning on,  it droops, and ends up looking all fainted.  But during the night,   pulls itself together and is Fine again in the morning.  I love to use it for roll ups,  has large strong leaves.

this is Tatuma,  a summer squash,  planted as an experiment in a large landscape pot…black….which there is question about…does the black pot absorbe too much heat?,  but i see here that it's not.   I give a lot of water every Eve and tho this pot is in direct Sun throughout the day till early eve,  it has been fine.  Has been fine in this week of over 100 degrees.

the Mexican Feather Grass is in it's Glory.   The kids are On the Road.   To arrive sometime tomorrow.   To arrive when  this Place is in it's Glory.   GREENING,  BEGINNING to fulfill it's grand purpose.   They will arrive this time in this moment and i am so so glad….that they can see what i see.   i notice how i like to repeat things.   i guess i do.  i like to repeat.  and so…To see What  I see.   Alyssia grew up here part of Her time.   She remembers a lot.  This will be Good.   She also knows the Goats.   The Goats will remember her.

it is always nice to share the good days with visitors. Here it is the first 2 weeks of May, normally, and then September. But this year the weather has turned gently warm for June, cool like September at night. Right now it is perfect. Green. Birdsong. Clear sunrise.
    Enjoy family and Giving Water.
By the way, those pots work great to Hold the Water. I sink them into the ground a bit sometimes.

The greenness, the goats, and interspersed throughout your land, the little enclaves, nooks and crannies, the raft, the hanging basket with treasures, the toad spas, all waiting for Julian and how wondrous it will be for him, almost 5, to take it all in, his old Nana’s oasis.
My heart is full to know that he, Alyssia and Veronika will be here soon and the winds will carry talk, laughter, those quiet moments of just being, just looking, just together that are the huge moments of life, and most of all, the winds will sing with joy and love…

yes. they always seem to come when it’s “less than perfect”.
in just a few weeks summer will begin to eat itself…that
beautiful hollyhock scene will have begun to be FOOD…the
leaves chewed up and browning. so i am really happy
    they’re coming now.
the pots…because the SUN is so intense here….
and one year i planted tomatoes and eggplant that way. Cut out the bottoms and sunk them in almost to the top
thinking it would hold water to the roots. yes. it did.
This time tho, they are just standing and they are fine
in this hottest week so they will be just fine.

Oh how wonderful this all is…family for you to visit with, the cloth, the garden. I love seeing how your garden grows, how things can survive in such different climates. The things we can both grow, how much sooner they bloom. It’s been exceptionally nice here this month, usually more rain. I am buying a hose today. 🙂

just read this as “i’m buying a HORSE today” and i
    jumped….WHAT???????????? a horse????????????????????
look carefully when you choose. i had to replace a hose
mid winter and there wasn’t much to choose from. The
one i got is driving me NUTS…it’s still and cumbersome.
gets all bent and i have to go back over and over to
straighten the kinks. Soon as i can i will get a
    more flexible one.
and yes…what is the Same. I like knowing that, and
also what is Different, but in certain ways, the Same.
Am going to show Alyssia your food blog. She’ll like
it a lot. Get crackin on that COOK BOOK!!!!!

Loved ones visiting at the right time. This is so Good and makes me smile. Dogwood bloom is the right time here. It is turning to into tick-checking time now and is not so much fun. Bigger smile at your eating photosynthesis.
I love the way you captured the connection in the cloth. The sun connected to the plants connected to the ground with roots.

and that heat was wowzer down here too! went to work at midnight and it was still 98 degrees outside. came with tornado warnings and the largest hail I’ve ever seen! frozen silver dollars falling from the sky!

the cloth is wonderfully grand…the land so beautiful and green and family, yes the visits with family are special memory maker times… just had one here and the hose – mine kinked and bent and needed such special treatment…son thought my “extreme care” unnecessary and when the hose burst and made a fountain shooting high into the twenty foot lilacs…. so he gifted me a new 50 foot hose, metal things to join to sprinkler and hand held….and the hose is a magical shrinking to nothing hose. easily travels around my little place….good from a challenging event…seems that is the way….great to have your family visiting…your home offers so much of memories for them and time to share the love … much sweetness.

the hose is such a TOOL. it can make things beautiful
and it can make things so hard.
I switched the Way Back hose with the second Front Hose
and all the difference in the world…now, smooth and
sweet. Hose. Who’dve thought so much it matters…
