some very small things…but very significant things…..a third crow.   stitches through SUN…. other things, here and there…how much is good?  how much is unnecessary?  Thinking.

the Way Back Insurrection of Goats into Oasis continued.  Off and on,  all day.  Till finally, i just stood at the door and watched.  After a while,  i saw it.  Who could have ever guessed that a fat Goat could squeeze cheerfully through a really small hole in the fence,  but ….YUP.  and so i wove it closed with baling wire.  Not how i had imagined i would, like Pretty and Orderly,  but messy and just enough to close the space…….maybe there will be a day when i can make it Pretty.  But for now,  it's just OK.

interesting how the addition of third crow grounds the cloth and creates movement. now my eye goes there, then down to the blue strip near the bottom, and then hangs out with eyes and your mark. all of a sudden, for me, it’s a landscape with meaning–as above so below.

This woven cloth is really beautiful. It is like a fragmented day. Seeing just bits of it and the inter-weavings of it. Those dogs… Is there a sense of companionship happening there?

that third crow adds such a sense of deep dimension, of story. Reading “A Love Letter from a Stray Moon” by Jay Griffiths,
    love this from page 84-
“There is a myth that all things wasted or lost on earth are treasured on the moon, which is why all the lost boys end up on the moon. The moon is always what might have been, and I do treasure what is lost, … . I will record it all, ‘re-cordis’, from ‘heart’ in Latin; it will pass through my heart again and again and again.

I will be the story teller of all that happened on earth …”
and a little further along on page 91-
“This is a strangely mythic age. Scientists speak of a law to conserve energy, but I think there is a law of the conservation of meaning.”
    and on page 106
… “All those I have loved the most have had a quality of flight.”

!!!!!!!O!!!!!!!!!!!!LA!, and HooRay….off to the Rose center. This is what i read:
“This simultaneous bifocal recognition of our cosmological context and our environmental crisis is clearly demonstrated at the American Museum of Natural History in New York with two major permanent exhibits. One is the Rose Center, that houses the Hall of the Universe and the Hall of the Earth. The other exhibit is the Hall of Biodiversity.
The Hall of the universe is architecturally striking, it is housed in a monumental glass cube, in the center of which is a globe containing the planetarium. Suspended in space around the globe are the planets of our solar system In a fascinating mingling f inner and outer worlds, our soar system is juxtaposed against the garden plaza and street scenes of New York visible through the soaring glass panels of the cube. After first passing through a simulation of the orininating fireball, visitors move onto an elevated spiral pathway. The sweeping pathway ushers visitors into a descending walk through time that traces the 12 billion year old cosmic journey from the great flaring forth in the fireball, through the formation of galaxies, and finally to the emergence of our solar system and planet. It ends with the evolution of life in the Cenozoic period of the last 65 million years and concludes with ONE HUMAN HAIR (caps mine) under a circle of glass, with the hairsbreath representing all of human history. The dramatic effect is stunning as we are called to reimage the human in the midst of such unfathomable immensities”.
“In contrast to the vast scope of evolutionary processes evident in the Hall of the Universe and the Hall of the Earth, the Hall f Biodiversity displays the extraordinary range of life forms that the planet has birthed. A panoply of animals, fish, birds, reptiles and insects engages the visitor. A plaque in the exhibit observes that WE ARE NOW LIVING IN THE MIDST OF A SIXTH EXTINCTION PERIOD DUE TO THE CURRENT MASSIVE LOSS OF SPECIES. IT NOTES THAT, WHILE THE FIVE EARLER PERIODS OF EXTINCTION WERE CAUSED BY A VARIETY OF FACTORS, INCLUDING METEOR COLLISIONS AND CLIMATE CHANGGE, HUMANS ARE, IN LARGE PART, THE CAUSE OF THIS PRESENT EXTINCTION SPASM. (caps mine)
