woke way too early.  built a small fire and began reading this.

If it continues to be as it is in the beginning….28 pages so far….,  it might be the only book i read for the rest of my life.   That when i reach the last page,  i will return to the first and begin again.

so at 28 pages i had to stop.  So much.  if i continued,  too much at once.  I sat staring into the fire.  At some point i looked up and actually SAW something that i have been seeing for a few days now.

something i had created

changed form.  Creating its Self.

the longer i look,  it seems as if it is about to Speak…make Sound.

so i'm going to just leave this at this point,  it's going to become light and there may be a very full day ahead.   I will look,  inbetween things,  all day and maybe know more by the end?   I don't know.

one of the Copper/Bronze mornings

while waiting for Alberto and the ranch guys,  i went back and found this.  How it was my Weaving for Jude's Considering Weave.   At first i thought it was really not much,  but over time, liked it more and more for what it WAS.  It hung free from the beam to the ROOM for a long time but then came over to this wall.   A little while ago a stray and wild wind came into the house and changed things.

And from the book,  Plant Intelligence and the Imaginal Realm  on about page 31,  i read about  Sensory gating channels.

"Sensory gating channels can be thought of as tiny apertures or gates or doors in specific sections of the nervous system's neural network.  They are similar to the lens of our eyes

that can expand or contract as needed to increase or decrease the amount of data allowed in.  They act to prevent sensory overload.  In other words,  if we consciously perceived everything that was coming in, simultaneously as it was happening we would be overwhelmed with sensory experience."

so i closed the Gate to this Cloth Being and opened the gate to OutSide and the issue of Buck Goats.  i prepared.  Totally.  and Waited.  and Alberto and the ranch guys never came.  Never called.  But i was totally ready for them.  Gates.   Gates in my mind.  But still,  there was this….LOTS of this.  Love was in the air and there was mating going on like crazy.  Double click and look at the eyes. Oh…look at the Eyes.

and the cloth held it's color.  Here,  it's not quite the redish that it is.  But close.  a Fine Fine scrap.

Stephen Harrod Buhner is one of my favorite authors. I read this book a few months ago and will probably begin again soon. Different things resonate when I read or re-read his books. : ) Looking forward to hearing about your experiences as you read.

The hanging cloths with the diamond “seed” eye will speak because they already said a phrase to me: wind cloth whisperer…

I like the cloth’s ‘bundliness’ (as opposed to being flat). It does already seem to have a voice.

I always thought Van Gogh lacked those sensory channels that edit neural input. His paintings reflect the full onslaught of all that is. No wonder he couldn’t last.

YES! yes…the sensory channels, the GATES. and i am trusting
tho that there are words in this 500some pages that will talk about
opening those gates and riding the full onslaught

When I saw the first few pictures of your cloth I wondered “Amulet bag?” … and then to see it once again in its pre-windblown form … ahhhh!
And the cloth … such rich color. I cannot wait to see how it too transforms!

Grace, I would be glad to share, although I’m not always that confident about my observations and comments out here on the internet. : )
Buhner’s books make me feel respect for all of life, the interconnections, make me feel less alone. I like the stories. His bibliography has his other books listed. They all have exercises to practice the concepts he speaks of. I am pretty bad about doing exercises in books, though. I have not read “Ensouling Language” but probably should. Your poet self would probably find a lot there…

I thought maybe this cloth was for your solace cloth pennant shape. I love the cocooning feel here, folding the “right” side in, showing the “back” side. It has such a…….. tenderness? A holding quality.
And please… I’d love to hear more book discussion where we can all benefit. I’ve had Buhner’s Sacred Plant Medicine on my wish list for a long time. Can’t remember where I first heard of it, but never got around to getting my hands on it.

the small pieces, shadows and transformed shapes are delightful to sit with…and the book, so piqued my curiosity…not yet owned by the local library, but I requested that they order ir, and I put on reserve three other of his books to read. Much appreciation for your introduction to his writing and to the input from others who read your blog. the scrap of cloth has much wonderfulness in the colors and patterns..where will it lead you? certainly a great wondering question.
Your autumn skies and colors are grand.

ahhh. ok. i find the moment here. And yes. I don’t know what to think. How it arranged itself this way, in a way that i could never have imagined to DO…………..?????????????
and yes. Flat. Do all cloths need to be Flat? Why on earth would i think that? But then, if they’re not flat, are they Cloths? or
    What ARE They?

that cloth will just Be there a while i’m thinking. What do you DO
    with cloth like that?
it’s why i almost don’t want to dye cloth. To be involved in its
becoming something and then want to fool with that becoming?????????

and in this particular case, how a flatness can lend a kind of failure to communicate, a feeling of being left out. Does this make sense?

or to put another way, maybe I am liking this ‘bundled cloth’ because of what it symbolizes — a gathering in, a pulling of the edges to the center. I ask myself, “who doesn’t want to be bundled?”

    Like

well…re this cloth, the whole of the Cloth’s right side is opened,
you can see inside. i like that a lot. And now there is
dimension. actually bundling would be claustrophobic to me. I agree, tho that most would like bundling.
