couldn't quit connect directly with Anything at All

way down there i kept being drawn to that basket tray on the wall.  Everytime my attention drifted from the computer screen,  i would look off to the left and that's where my gaze settled

but throughout the day,  i could never find light that would give the good image on the basket.  I just wandered.

the Old Apricot Tree.  What????????????? is happening here.  No longer can i avoid looking.  Like, the whole left of the tree has died.  The right, near the house is fine.  WHAT IS THIS?  and really, there's no way to know till spring.  What comes back, does.  What doesn't come back, doesn't.  I looked up lifespans of trees on Google and Apricot Trees have a "medium" lifespan.  But they give no numbers…what does medium mean?   And this is true too, of the Mexican Elderberry.  Is 20 years OLD?

i fooled around with cloth.  Tea dye of some muslin.   Tried some bleach on other chemical dye pieces with very odd and unexpected results.

An odd day.  Just an odd day.

    Life span of an apricot tree is 20-30 years.They flourish in well-drained, fertile soil and prefer full sun. Do not plant apricots in low-lying areas where water collects. Need more Tay pictures ;}

    Yes it was an odd day, too hot for the end of October, and although we went for a long drive, few photos, very little exploring which is unlike us, it was just an off kilter kind of day…
    While you didn’t feel that you connected with much on this day, you noticed many things and the panorama of these things, connected us to your “odd” day. Now you would think that what I noticed the most was your cloth dye line but nope, it was the eggplant skin, don’t like to eat eggplants but do like their shape, their color and especially this prehistoric eggplant skeleton.

    Well….hmmmm. Full sun. check. otherwise, hmmmm. She is is a place where she Flourished…i love that word, flourish, where she flourished for now 19 years. Well, that’s not true. a couple years ago there was a wood pecker on a branch or two. and then again, the following year. I sat Out There a long time today. What if she Dies?

    Could be shot hole borers in that apricot tree. Or another type of borer….Look for tiny holes with chafe/dust coming out…Watch closely, they can spread and kill the whole tree. They are most active in spring and summer.
    If it’s borers and the limbs can’t sprout out next spring, cut, remove and best burn. Shot hole borers are not good for a fruit tree.
    just my thoughts from a fellow fruit tree grower,
