i cannot imagine wanting to iron out these wrinkles.  Just look how beauty FULL they are.   And i should say again that the tea that gives such deep and rich colour is Taylors of Harrogate Scottish Breakfast Tea.   Different teas give different color.  THIS tea,  not only is my morning tea but eeeee the color it gives cotton.

Then off to work away day coming home Determined.  Before real Cold sets in.

IMG_1163f

i DID it.  the two missing window panes.  IN.   This,  all smudged but IN.  Will deal with smudge later.   A great day for it because Snowbunny, Celia and Caroline are deep into Heat and so all does are spending their day in the middle pen, closest to the bucks.  Which meant that i could climb on the ladder without concern that they would push it and me over.  Quietly i worked.  Chipping and scraping out all the old caulk .  Setting the glass.  Inserting the glazier's points…puntas de esmaltado in spanish,  pointes de vitrier in french and glasiernnagel in…maybe German?  …all those on the little package.  Instructions of the back side also given four ways.    But DONE.  no more flapping plastic.  Glass.   i think about Glass.  and then mind drifts to Julie's latest post on ThreadingtheDog.blogspot.  Glass.  when did Glass windows begin to figure in to the Norm?

It's Dark now.  5:35 p.m.   This morning i had a mouse in the Tin Cat live trap.  One more down.  Did not see the Yellow Kitten.  Did not do a single thing with Cloth but think of it.  That's it.  Today.

Looking at your beautiful rich amber curtains, I think that if I were coming in from the cold, to see them would instantly warm me, the glow of the light streaming through is magic; a circumstance of function as well as beauty.

Tea from the local grocery that brings Scotland to New Mexico.

You are so intrepid Grace. Way to go with the glazing and the glasiernagel. I have a couple of broken windows in the old house/studio and I am just waiting for Mike to fix them. Take a deep breath now. I should just do it myself. Your tea dyed curtains are like caramel.

stained glass windows in churches and mosques have been around since around the 7th C, it wasn’t until the industrial revolution that humans learned to make big sheets of glass mechanically rather than blown but it was still very expensive to produce until the 1920’s when float glass was invented & we could start to live in glass houses.
NB I worked with glass as my main form of expression from 1982-2002

good thing we love wrinkled and worn ‘cos that’s the way of the ageing body, ageing anything really; I often have wrinkly apples lying about the place, they have a way of falling in on themselves until all you’re left with is a very light leathery-type wrinkled remnant of an apple, the snails eventually get to them when they find themselves locked up in the studio and their silvery trails are the tell-tale signs of who has dealt the final blow
how beautifully selfsufficient you are for having fixed those glass panes yourself

I have been reading Mary Oliver poems, trying to pick one for
Alz B’s memorial and i turned to read these words you wrote here and
if you had written them This way:
Good thing we love wrinkled and worn
cos that’s the way of the ageing body,
    ageing anything, really;
    I often have wrinkly apples
    lying about the place
they have a way of falling in on themselves
    until all you’re left with
is a very light leathery-type remnant of an apple.
The snails eventually get to them
    when they find themselves
locked up in the studio and
their silvery trails are the tell-tale signs of
who has dealt the final blow.
    How beautifully selfsufficient you are
for having fixed those glass panes
    yourself.
Very much like a Mary Oliver poem. Very Much.

Oh those curtains! Like mica lamp shades or apple cider. I really like red curtains for the same glow but this amber color you have is wonderful.

well no–one guy was singing a song unrelated and LOUD while words scrolled on the screen almost too tiny to read….and worse…NOT all good….Mary herself all good of course…and one or two of the readers were fine but there are over two hundred videos. Good for all of them but not for Marys poems or for the listeners. Look for yourself. One guy was kinda funny and enthusiastic standing in the woods somewhere and ‘acting out’ “Mushrooms”.
