I had to let go of what i was doing Inside my Self and do what needs to be done.  I set the window up on a sheet that covered the bathroom mirror, that covers the bathroom sink and put the strips of tape.  Then i painted.  Painted the Premium Primer that is said to block heavy stains for fewer topcoats.

hmmmm.

but i did it.

and brought in wood that had been saturated by SNOW,  setting it on end in  hopes it would dry easier.   Enough for just tomorrow morning.  Tomorrow is a work away day and before i go,  i will need to see to the Goats.  When i arrive back home,  i can see how much of the Snow has melted on the wood.  No way to know.  No way to know what it means,  snow melting,  …?   Does it mean the wood is too wet to burn?   I don't know.  I'll find out.

i’m glad to see this wood, Grace. because every time you mention splitting it, i find myself again acknowledging the wonder of you. i know there are a lot of women here who are probably also splitting their own wood. i am not one of them. but i had that experience for 15 years and so i have a handle for understanding the work of it all. and what it means. so elemental. to be so directly involved with fire and the heat necessary to sustain life. to be Able to do this is also a wonder and a gift and i don’t say that lightly.
this window looks good. very good. and as i study it i’m remembering something that just happened. i took that tape off a similar project and some of the paint came off with it. so i scored the other panes with a razor before i removed the tape and that solved the problem. i have a feeling i’m preaching to the choir–but just in case.
    sending warmth your way

it’ll burn if you have some coals already going. hard to start a fire with damp wood. but snow doesn’t really penetrate much if you brush it off before bringing it in and letting it melt.

Hi Grace, one thing I have learned over the years is a good premium primer really does make a difference, one top coat is often all that’s needed, when we moved in here 6 years ago the bathroom was black with mold, took out one pane of glass to allow airflow filled all the holes with expandafoam and gap filler, did one coat of good primer and then one top coat and it has held up well for 6 years.
Hope the wood burned fine and you are warm!

Dear You…i have a wood spliter too. a haudrolic thing that i was given some time ago. i love to SPLIT! BANG! the wood…to look and
guess where to whack it with the AXE. I use the splitter when things are too ify. But inbetween, i put myself to the wood. Electricity,
the pull of it from the Splitter and then also, that constant question of What if?
    So both. Both.
