this is the first time ever that i have more than 2 Cloths working at a time. Most often, only 1. Three!
it's an interesting experience.

Seven Goats and Seven Crows
Work Away Day so not a lot done, but Enough understood.

Still thinking about what ? cahilly ? posted yesterday (so fine)- Goethe but here goes-” Concerning all acts of initiative ( & creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas & splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself , then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforseen incidents & meetings & material assistance which no ( human) could have dreamed would come her way.” I copied it out to remember it.
and nice triple tasking with the cloths too….or maybe quadruple tasking when one considers it was a work away day too. I like the new cloths in the works.

Colors rising from the land, the sky, the colors on these cloths, speak softly yet boldly about the desert. 2nd photo especially, I see the Sandia mountains and a hot air balloon rising from the desert floor. Sat. there was a balloon rise that could be seen from our front yard. What would that be like, soaring across the land, drifting with the wind in a hot air balloon. Closest I have been to that experience and they don’t compare is a helicopter, actually many helicopter rides over land, sea, down a dormant volcano, landing on a cinder cone, swooping up to follow a waterfall, misty droplets hitting the front of the helicopter…in those days I was always the skinniest person, you are weighed before getting your seat assignment so I would sit up front with the pilot and get an amazing, expansive view…

dear grace, yesterday while going through a box of cuttings i have for pasting found and pulled out the gathering of crows.
then tonight your post, and i thought, so many strings of connection if our eyes are open to see (and we have the luxury of time and freedom)
i have no idea the source of poem, nursery rhyme?
THE GATHERING OF CROWS
ONE CROW FOR SORROW
TWO CROWS FOR JOY
THREE CROWS FOR A GIRL
FOUR CROWS FOR A BOY
FIVE CROWS FOR SILVER
SIX CROWS FOR GOLD
SEVEN CROWS FOR A SECRET NEVER TO BE TOLD

I have never worked on just one quilt. Can’t imagine it, actually. Sometimes PINE for that kind of focus, but it’ll never happen. YOUR jump from Single to Triple feels like part of an expansiveness that is somehow new.
