Leisure

Leisure.  a condition of the soul.

"leisure as a 'non activity'…an inner absence of preoccupation, a calm, an  ability to let things go, to be quiet.

In leisure, there is….something of the serenity of   "not-being-able-to-grasp",  of the recognition of the mysterious character of the world, and the confidence of blind faith, which can let things go as they will"

What if?

Last Wednesday,  when there was a day of not needing to go anywhere,  a day of just Open ness,  and that morning,  i was Out,  scrubbing the bucks' water tubs,  there was an inkling of this.  Of  leisure.  It was so elegant and soft and elegant.  Moments of it.  Elegant and Soft.

i am looking.  Trying to understand.

ah do you remember the “It’s a Small World” Disneyland circa the 1960’s era dream of a leisure society where the machines would do all the work and the people would have fun studying abstract concepts, dancing, writing poetry, making art and beautiful gardens? well it’s happening but the people who own the machines are not being very generous with the profits!

Leisure has been on my mind…..I am going to be traveling the next 3 weeks visiting family and friends. I do not have a smart phone and have made up my mind that if this time is to be a time of leisure….a time away…then my tablet will be staying home. Grace I will miss our daily visits along with the wonderful comments from all you ladies. Stay well everyone……BLESSINGS!

no…i have been such an anti disney. We took the kids to
disney world when Jenny was maybe 3 and my son Jon a newborn and
there was that ride, the It’s a Small World ride of teacups
and the song, the sound of it was nauseating to me…it was
    to visit their grandfather
i remember my breast milk just flowing unchecked. My shirt was
soaked and that music blinking blinking blinking along.
    Glad i survived it.

I was 9 years old when I saw “It’s a Small World” at the New York World’s Fair & although I felt it was a twee plastic fantasy of an idea even back then I loved the concept of having plenty of time and resources for all the people of the world, what happened to the idea of providing a university education to at least one person in every village on our planet?

nothing like this is going to Happen. The Majority live in
    a blah illusion of nothingness.
if anything is going to happen it will be because of oh so small
intention in an oh so small fragment of Life.
