before i left for Work Away today  i went to Michelle's house and for whatever reason,  her post today made me feel very

soft

quiet

slow

even though i had already fed and watered,  i went back Out….stood there,  feeling soft and quiet,  came back in for the camera and took this pic

from the text:

" Few 20th century photographers have enjoyed such great international acclaim as Karl Blossfeldt  (1865-1932).  He chose as the subject of his photographic work the universal motif of the plant,  presenting it in clear, severely composed images of an un mistakable and memorable kind.  Blossfeldt was not a photographer as such,  at least he did not see himself as one.  An enthusiastic amateur,  he took pictures with a home-made wooden camera,  using his images as a teaching aid in the drawing classes he gave as a professor at the Berlin College of Art."

thank you Grace, I have never seen or heard of Karl Blossfeldt’s work, an architect’s eye for forms in nature & that slowing down and looking and then your tender glass of water for the volunteer aster daisy

How lovely this post…the desparado and the golden glow, and what a find that Karl Blossfeldt is! I like that you say my post today made you feel soft…perhaps it was the tender words of Adrienne Rich’s poem http://mscomfortzone.blogspot.com/2016/05/rainy-saturday-lazy-sunday-early-monday.html
Did you see Yvette’s post yet…her “Mam” has passed. She addressed an email with her post url to several of us including you. I sent, and posted this reply:

    Bees need water too.
Now there are enough flowers to feed them but a few weeks ago i took a small bottle of water with me on walks to feed/water the bumble bees…….
    I may have saved 3 or 4……

    “i may have saved 3 or 4…”
Taking the water, giving it, the bees drinking, the
maybe 3 or 4 bees that might have drunk the water…those
bees…their thirst of life and death, of well being or not
those bees…they matter as much as the whole world…those
    3 or 4 bees

    Grace,
those 3 or 4 mean the world to me.
Sometimes i think i go crazy because animals are becoming more important to me then people.
    So what? Who cares?
Now Yvettes mom is gone and im stitching a little piece for her. To soothe Yvette, my dear friend and for Ada, i knew her.
Theres a coming and going in this world….so much business………..
I hope you are well……..sending you love from a cold Holland……….
