Sydney came this morning.  She and her Woman are Arboristas.   We looked.  Saw that Tree is supported just some on the Earth in total by 4 maybe 5 branch points.  The main one on the Milkstand.  She pulled at it some and pushed some and it was determined to be safe until tomorrow afternoon when she'll return with her chain saw and remove what needs to be removed which will allow Tree to ease fully to  Earth.  We will leave everything that makes sense,  branch wise.  For the birds.     Her body will remain.  Today was day three and that day when Goats are ok with things,  the third day and today they came when she was here and helped investigate.  Then they stayed a good part of the day,  using branches to scratch with,  eating others.  Beginning to strip the bark.   Tomorrow.

Finished the matchboxes.  They make me Happy.

wrapping and packing.  All the young ones get Christmas.  8, 7, 3, and l.  Tissue and curling ribbon.   need to be sent priority tomorrow as usual.  I thought i was ahead.  Not.  Thought Christmas was on a Wednesday.  It isn't.  so ok.

I am watching the National Weather forcast.  As of today,  Wednesday,  the Solstice Hike at the Refuge is forcast to be 59 and Sunny.  Who could possibly ask for more.

F

Stitched.  Crow.  the outline of Goat Eye.  invisible baste.   This made me happy too.

Across the road Margie and her various extended family began their drug and alcohol enhanced Holiday exchanges.  I think about how human we are.

i spent some time thinking of All Who Come Here.  Slowly,  each of Us,  where we are on the Planet,  what i know about our lives,  i picture Us today,  moving toward Solstice, and there is such deep Gratitude and Love.

So glad your goats are relaxing around their changed surroundings. A fallen tree can leave a big hole in your heart for a long time. We lost some over Winter this year. The boxes for your Grandchildren are so lovely. Loving your new cloth too. Love and Good Health to you and your animals…Marg ox

Just about packed late night as usual before travel…and just a few blog reads before I unplug for the duration.
Happy for the goats third day okay-ness and it will be fine for scratching and sticks for cloth too.
Pretty fine packages you’ve got there…they are nice those boxes.
I had a shock…turns out my neighbor of decades is going to a hotel and spent the day clearing his apartment due to a court case he is convinced he will win and be back in a week but it was upsetting watching the boxes and furniture go down into a truck…he’s been in conflict with this landlord since 1998 and he seems to enjoy it…I hope he wins for his daughters sake. People and their ways, yes…and the alcohol fueled holidays so many seem to need. ((((sigh)))) I don’t know any one who has no issues. Human being is just not easy.
I’m happy I’m getting on a train and going where others are having their issues (((change of pace))) and the country too. Weather is going to be okay for the most part up North and so glad your hike will be sunny! YAY
Saw your comment on my post and I will tuck a few thoughts of love in to my pocket before I lock up in the morning.
Good night sweet, fierce, fine Grace. Blessed BE!

Love these little treasure boxes so. The goats know, don’t they? Their ability to adapt, pretty quickly…something to teach us? Adapting in a timely way can be a challenge.

So glad to hear that some of the tree will stay. I try to be more goat-like and present, even though it takes a few days for them to re-acclimate to changes (takes me a lot longer, even though I keep trying). Keep on going with their sweet breath on our faces.
Love your cloth and your matchboxes!
