before Alyssia left  she set the hose to drip,  to seep  for the trees.   On just one,  but when i went down to do the Water for the Wall Garden,  the tree watering was already ongoing.  All i needed to do is to move that hose to the second tree,  let it seep while i gave water to the wall garden.   Which i did.

i then watered the as yet unplanted grape vine and moved over to the large Rock.  I give that Rock water….for whatever reason  maybe because it gives me a sense of something?   But i give the Rock water and as i did there was a shrarp stinging sensation and i kicked my foot….there are sharp spines on some of the "weeds"  there now… but something of the reptilian brain said, look….and i did and it was not at all a weed,  but this.   I have been stung before by wasps,  back in the Other Place,  the last time on my lip.   This time i think 5 stings on the right ankle.   As i write this there are hot sensations rising from that ankle,  like hot sting things.  There was Benedryl in the medicine cabinet.  I took two.

Alyssia and i had spent the late afternoon talking about the State of Affairs of the World.  We shared what we had learned,  we shared how we need to learn more…daily.  To be AWARE.  To recognize reason to worry.  In a way,  to recognize the sting from a plant,  from the sting of an aggressor.   How to interpret that.

Sorry to hear about the wasp stings. They are not like bee stings at all. The bee will sting only as a last resort out of self defence. But the wasp…it attacks and stings repeatedly. Very painful.
As for the rock…I live on the northwest shore of Lake Superior and if I saw a rock like that in California I would feel very much at home.

Yeowch!!! Oh, Grace. Hope the pain subsides.
Wasps must be nesting under the rock. I’m only sending this link because it has information about ground wasps (not for the extermination information) https://www.westernexterminator.com/wasps/ground-wasp/

Oh noooooo .. I’m glad you’re OK. Talking about the state of the world! What caused more pain the conversation or the bee stings??

I learned the hard way not to stand in one place too long … here it is the fire ants that climb up and make themselves known. I’m a big fan of generic benadryl cream which takes away some of the sting without the systemic effects of the oral version (which puts me to sleep).
This time of year we also have nettles, which sting as bad or worse than any critter …
Even on the hottest days, I try to wear boots and long pants, gloves and long sleeves when I’m working the land. Needless to say, I haven’t been out recently.

Wasps stings hurt a long time. I keep meat tenderizer in the
med supplies. Make a past with water. Takes away some of the pain.

Broke my hand a few days ago. I’d rather that than stings. Deadly allergic. The youtube story is sympatico for both of us.
