the Doe Goat Shelter.   Particularly because of Cinderella,  it's where her final days took place.  All the bedding.  I raked and pitch forked out over the weekend.  Straw,  manure,  urine.   COMPOSTABLE BIOMAS.   Earth Food. Now it needs to get down to Campsite B and then further to the Wall Garden at A.   The chosen method is to pile it onto a large tarp.  use that tarp as a sled to pull it.  Jenny and Julian and i did one on the weekend.  Easy.  Today,  it was me and Emrie.  Not quite so easy,  but we did it.  Her little legs.   I love.  LOVE  her little legs.  Two more trips to B and then the rest down to A.

to have faith in Stuff.

to have faith that it will somehow amount to Something.  To not know what the Something exactly IS,  but to have

Faith in it.

Addendum ~ ready to give it up for the day,  coming back one more time and how the finger strays  and how it touched Sam Baker in the right column,  Mercy

that began,   the gentle motion of the sounds,  Mercy.  Old words.  Faith.  Mercy.  We go.

Was it Heidi that hitched her goats to a little wagon? Some fairytale child, but would asking that of them be out of the question. A harness of some kind. Pulling downhill with treats after the job was done?

I like Debs notion…I think I know that image. When I was a girl a desperately wished for a donkey and cart. Amazing amount of work in the pens and so realized by picturing tiny Emrie dragging tarps with her big Grandma…”Her little legs.” Doesn’t the pale golden hay just ache to be a cloth. Touching memory of dear Cinderella. I really ‘leave-town’ (Manhattan) when I visit’Windthread’these days. Maybe it always was like a trip to bountiful but somehow, this setting and the events of these lives is totally calming to me, a break from the mad/mad world of insane desires, deceits and destruction so sorely needed. Here is sanity.

The mind image I have of you and Emrie dragging the tarp…love that. The working together.

The urge to help, to do your part for the tribe, even with little legs. Isn’t that a beautiful thing.

Oh my–that green grass to the right. Here in Maine–it snowed overnight and all is WHITE.
G and I do the tarp and drag here with leaves, mulch and grass clippings–all good compost. He loads the tarp but has no strength to pull–lucky for us–I have more than enough and drag the tarp easily. Together we make ONE.
My daughter tells of Christmas Trees being collected to feed goats— they love the fir needles.

It’s always nice to have a little help. And faith, a reason to get up and do it again.
