Light. I think I could live in a glass house. I just can’t get enough light in the winter.
If hung in a window, light could shine through.LikeLike

Grace, this is really a beautiful piece. I love the tree with roots, the mountains and great colors. Wonderful with the light shining through.

how this cloth becomes even more beautiful when light streams through it … if only the light wouldn’t disintegrate it over time. But then again, why not? Why not let all cloth be beautiful for a day, a year, whatever? So much in life is ephemeral … cloth can be metaphor

This piece is so touching, and made more subtle by the back light. I just love it.

This cloth is most beautiful. I love the roots becoming finer at the ends. They remind me of arteries holding and feeding the earth. Our hearts.

it would take a long time. In New Mex i had things on
windows for years, that intense desert altitude light and
they held their integrity for the most part.
I think of the Cloths i make as Working Cloths, that
their voice, story, can be an ongoing conversation..?…
that they can be handled, maybe set on the back of a chair,
tacked to someone’s wall with push pins, and hanging
sometimes in a window too. Moved around.LikeLike

yes…i think everyday now, about roots, When i look
out at the trees, or walk Out There, i try to visualize how it must be here…all the roots, just so so many roots
and here, also the under spaces of granite rocks creating
cracks and crevices
and how the roots of all these trees mingle together, how
they Hold eachotherLikeLike

This reminds me of those old ant farms or a terrarium. Life happening below the surface and somehow, we get to see it.
