the Asian Pear that the wandering Deer  pruned at the end of last summer.  That we had worried about.

Plumcot.  Apricot Plum cross.

both,  this and the Asian Pear we planted late.  They were a little stressed from the Nursery.  It was already hot.    We didn't know.  But here they are.  Their second year here.  2.  They are 2 for the Hill people.  Bees come.   That they "managed" gives us good courage to go forward with more.  Trees.   Plant trees.  Plant trees that will feed us,  feed any who will come,  down the line.

Native trees bloom and form tassels,  like here.  Bees come to these too.

i am coming out from under whatever virus had taken residence in my body.  Id thought it was just a cold,  but i guess not.  It makes the muscles slow and tight,  instead of two stops up the Hill,  there needs to be three.  I sit and rest.  But that has been a good thing.  To need to go slow.  To need to because you just can't go any faster.  Going slow has encouraged a lot of Looking and Looking is always for the Good of the Whole,  Right?

You have the same speeds that I do. Slow and stop. They work.
Where do you get your fruit trees? Mail order or local nursery? I’ve decided to plant blueberries this year and I know locally where I will go but they are so expensive. Quantity or quality, quality always wins out. But this year, for the first time, time has become a factor. Trees are for the long term and I am way out of my comfort zone of knowing.

    “comfort zone of nowing”??????
daughterJenny likes the place she found these trees. Local.
in Chico. It’s called Little Red Hen Nursery and a family run nursery that gives a percentage to Autism, having an
Autistic son who is part of the family business. This having come to be closer to heart with working with grandson Fate, my Greatgrandson who is “on the spectrum”. We plant these trees for him too…in faith that they will give him fruit
    as he grows.
Today i saw via Liz’s blog, Susan Gaylord’s pic of
Witch Hazel. Never had seen this before, so i of course
googled and look more. High in Tannin. This i may not
be able to source locally…haven’t tried yet, but, if not, i might want to get anyway???? Don’t know enough yet.
i WILL get Native Lilac from an Oroville source, the Permaculture guy who is establishing his own nursery. They were starting them last year.
any time local, i think. worth the extra dollars. They have lived through a couple of local seasons in their little nursery pots, have been born into the particular climate, less startled with the transplant. This is my thinking.
Maybe tho, ones who come from elsewhere and HAPPY to find themselves here????? I guess it’s Love?
and as i write this, i think of the people who have plant nurseries, have that Calling, the steadfastness, commitment
that that requires, so, to that too?
I like very much that we think about it…..Love,

Makes me happy to see your trees in bloom and that you are feeling better. Buy local always .. whenever possible. First day of Spring brings hope to us here in Wisconsin although I won’t be putting away my winter things for awhile.
