they came late in the day to bring ice,  batteries and the great grandson Julian,  Alyssia's son.  9 yrs.  He leaves tomorrow to fly to New Jersey to spend a month and a half with his father.  Like every summer.  Since he was 3.  There are grandma's there and many many aunties.  They dote.

We went to B to give water and there were out of no where,  beautiful white flowers atop long long stems.  I'd not taken the phone so, no camera.

When we got back and were sitting outSide,  feeling the day cool into evening,  gazing off,  i saw white things in the corridor between the old buck forests and the doe forest….Could it be?  and yes, it was.  Here too today…not yesterday.  i will get a good picture tomorrow.  They are Beauty FULL.

i asked him what he wanted to do before he left.  He spent one afternoon after school copying down this recipe from the internet.   Oreo Four Layer Dessert.  He wants to make Oreo Four Layer Dessert.  So.  today,  100 degrees.  Now at 9:56 pm it's 95.  It cools during the night.   I will wake him EARLY to chop fine the pecans and soften the cream cheese.  We will heat the oven and bake the bottom crust.   Only 15 to 20 min…not so bad.   In the end it chills for 2 hours.  If it comes out good,  he wants to take the recipe cards with him and make it for his Dad.  Father's Day.

Emrie calls the Moon  ……  Cow.  Because we all look up and call out,  Moooon!   Emrie looks up and says Cow!!!!!

Oven on during a heat wave. Nothing says lovin’ like grandson’s cookies in the oven! You are the best!
I drew a picture of the moon today. It had a bunny on it. I enjoy hearing that it is called “cow”-Moooon.

I picture, in my mind’s eye, one of your gently limned faces … this one rounded with the softness of un-age, topped with curls … and above, a wisp of cloth … moooon
Thank you for the gift of this imagining … and for the sweet reality that is Emrie

Great stories of two beautiful children. They are both so enriched by the experiences you share with them.

    To Emrie
Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moooon. The little dog laughed to see such a sight and the dish ran away with the spoon.

I love how the young make plans & connections. When Janie’s daughter was 2, she called anything red “apple” & anything yellow “dandelion”.
