Morning light…shadow.   Etymology:  Subliminal.  Threshold.   Latin.  limen limin  Beneath the Threshold.

the Threshold that has been defined in constricted focus  over generations.  But somewhere,  IN US,  still,  remains the Subliminal.

I wash quite a few things in the kitchen sink. But I do not have a laundry line. I grew up with one. Always. Walking as a toddler under the bottom edges of the shirts and sheets and towels. The house we lived in from 10 years until I went off to college and then marriage had a long line between the house and the garage. Needing clothes poles to hold the line up off the driveway. I lwas not allowed to hang the clothes and bed linens but could take them down and fold them into the laundry basket. Then go into the basement and iron each and every piece. Even underwear. while my brothers played.
Here in Maine too many insects and too much dirt in the air. And no good trees to hold the clothes line firm.
