yes!….sleek. they are moist. not like lizards.
Moist and so tender in their moistness.
This was at first slow and sleepy. Had been waiting
under a plastic tarp. Where that snail had been a while ago. Stuff love tarps.
At first cold, it was a cold day but with the warmth of my hand, not cold and becoming faster, tho they are never fast like lizards are.
Loving decaying wood, leaf debris. Just so overjoyed
    by this meeting

A marvelous encounter of the sixth kind! Your love is so total I can feel it. The salamanders of my youthful visits to grandmas in the Catskills introduced me to orange ones. Once I brought one home, but mom wanted it out of the house (it was in a large perforated tin with grass and leaves, top off, in my room)-She put it out in the back yard unbeknownst to me…and with the lid closed! I found it fried. A sad and angry moment indeed.

Medieval folk believed they could live in fire because they are
    so moist (untrue).

    yes. sad and angry…..
i learned so early on to make some kind of home
for things OUTSIDE where there homes already were.
We were both safe that way

no…they don’t emerge really. This one was wintering
over under the tarp i moved. Otherwise i probably would have never seen it. They are reclusive. Live deep in
    the forest biomass

yes…i took it as a SIGN. Long a symbol of withstanding
    fire, burn and rise unscathed.

    they are incredibly ephemeral..
lizards their size have “weight” in the palm, but
they are like a whisper, a slight breath.
i love that you introduce yourself….I love YOU,
    Tina,
