i NEED to begin a small cloth.    like,  NEED to.   looking in the folder of old drawings….this one…made me laugh and also is how it is Now,  Here,       lizards coming and going     there are so MANY this year.  They're everywhere,  their coming and going almost simultaneous.  In the Trees…running along branches high up,  on the Forest floor skittering,  in the Gardens running.  hiding.   More than ever before since i've been here.   The other day when i went to feed,   i was mutually  caught by surprise by a probably 8 inch BODY…tail i don't know,  was curved  S shape  on the alfalfa bale.    Don't see these big ones so much…they're  Secretive.  The little ones don't care.   Lizards for me are messengers.   What is the message then,  this spring/summer?

I used to catch…and release!…little red belly lizards when I was a kid. Years later I learned they are toxic. Wonder what happens if you “get” toxic. I seem fine, ha!
I’ve started a small cloth. Meaningless stitches, just scraps stuck on a larger cloth. Also working on baby granddaughters quilt. Problem is all I have are a few newer commercial fabrics and I find them uninspiring.
Your sketch is wonderful. Cant wait to see what you put together.
Tomorrow I will attend to my blog, with photos of my projects.
    Be well my friend ♡

i think it’s true that most (maybe all) “toxic” things only release that toxic substance when threatened. Maybe they did not feel that with your touch. and maybe this can apply to human beings?…only when feeling threatened?…maybe something to think about
a lot of the commercial is…commercial. Some tho…i still love.
There’s something to dying your own. i would like to do some of that again…maybe.
    so…
Will look FORWARD then to tomorrow.
    We will be well.

I went to sleep last night remembering how when my son was young we used to make “books” to talk about things. I was thinking about Emery and her issue with social distancing. What if you told her that New Nana is a hero because she helps keep people from getting sicker. She helps people get better so they can go home. Then have her decorate a hero picture. Maybe a cape like super people have. Maybe a crown. Lots of hearts. People around here have signs in their yards with big red hearts to say thankyou to our heros. But mostly it gives her something she CAN do. I know social distancing is hard for her but what can she do to show her love for New Nana. Is she ready for collage yet?

oh man lucky you. They stopped coming here year before last and now we only hear them in the distance. I so miss them as yearly thing. Does Soul-o go bonkers at the decibel level?

This post taught me things. Have been trying to figure out how to problem solve visual design options in a simplified way. The first picture yielded volumes of info about that.
Not sure I’ll ever give up “life size” cartoons but this is a nice way to get myself moving instead of putting it off or figuring stuff out by making mistakes and devising ways to correct them.

Loved the geckos that we lived with in Hawaii. The clicking sound seemed so loud coming from those little things. From then to now the geckos are not the same ones. Even the many many roads that littered the roads after a heavy rain are gone. Yes a small cloth to stick away at is always a good thing .. you’ll find comfort and joy in doing so.

I love your lizard people drawing, coming and going. Just the geometric hint with motion implied. Also holding green. Would
love to see these in small cloth…maybe becoming more.

You’ve given me Things To Think About, Grace, as you frequently do. Toxicity vs Gentleness
    Kindness…all Big words.
And yes, I think the little critters felt Love in my touch.
He, I’ve just remembered another Tale of Love and toxicity I’ll have to share with you. It’s the Tale of Alice….the tarantula.
I have never dyed cloth before…except with Rit dye(shudder)..the chemicals scared me.
I love the softness, gentleness of natural dying, especially on linen. But have not much plant knowledge…used to but not regarding how to transform cloth. It’s a Garden of Possibility for me.

Tina…♡ my daughter spent some years in Hawaii. She used to Assist the geckos off roads and sidewalks. She’d send me photos.
Its good to see your children grow and adopt the good things you showed them. I’m glad she adopted Big Love for all the critters.
    Thank you for the memory.
