All this century here in Australia there’s no bugs on the windscreen when driving at night out of the city, our beautiful broken world is in a very precarious state… love the first image of the gardener tending her plants.

so many bugs here, lately even the ants make me happy. Just say hello and watch them come and go.

I didn’t go to Austin with Don yesterday, as I twinged my sciatic nerve and didn’t want to irritate it any further
So Don went up to tend the vegetable garden and to play with the kids from a distance. P wanted to know where I was and Don explained my back hurt … “why?” she wanted to know … because Nana lifted something heavy … “what?” she wanted to know … “Groceries from the store” …
Then, hours later, as we all chatted on FaceTime, Parker asked “Is your back better Nana?”
three years old and she has empathy … “the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another”
three years old

Everyday I walk the garden .. marvel at the overnight growth of different plants. I am soooo happy that I decided to bring all the plants I did. I hardly see any bugs and very few worms .. and I miss them. Why people think that all the pesticides only kill weeds .. shame on them.
We have little ones around the same age Grace … I worry now more than ever about their future. Your little one is totally blessed to have you and all that means. To have you .. like we all do .. why we come .. because you care!! Please Grace know that we care too and send you gentle hugs and unconditional love and understanding.

Those little tiny hands cradling a seedling. She learns so much from her women.
I imagine you writing, maybe gluing in your journal, reading, feeding, seeding…
We love you, dear Grace.
