all this restlessness.   all this   un Ease.   All this What To Do.    I thought today….important to factor in the Facts of these days that are WET.   Nothing but Wet.   My world has been reduced to the small square feet of this little tin thing.   No     OUT SIDE.

and In here….the moisture is,   uhhhh,   there isn't a good word for it.   My salt shaker couldn't shake….the little holes were clogged with moist salt.   I found the large container in the cupboard….wouldn't shake either,  all stuck together.   I asked Alyssia to bring me some salt and i put it in this little jar,   taking out a finger full at a time and now….here we have it.  Somehow the moisture got in there too.  So….  factor this in.   Breathe.   Go Slow.   it just is how it is.

Some people put a few grains of rice in with the salt. It helps absorb humidity.

I keep having moments that I realize I am holding my breath. The rice trick has worked for me in the past.

Very foggy on the mountain this morning…and wet as well. Makes my head feel like it’s stuffed with cotton.

That’s a lot of moisture to cope with. We burn wood so have a pretty dry environment inside. I have to keep watering the plants. Sometimes the day-to-day is just a lot of handle, go slow is good advice.

ugh … I remember the watery salt shaker from my childhood vacations on Shelter Island … we stayed in an uninsulated, unheated, un-anythinged cottage … my mom would put rice in the shaker, which worked most days, but not so much on long stretches of rainy weather … and I did (and do) so love salt

Oh Grace…this is a lot of moisture! It has been rainy here, but not as much…but the rain, fog, change in temps…headaches every day again. I’ve not missed those. Can you stay in town at Alyssia’s for a night to get a break? I know the goats and animals need you though. Sending a dry hug.

we have enough oak here, fallen, to heat the world and
    can’t burn it.
