then,  late and with the Flash which i don't love,   i  see that it is a good time to pause….see what's happened so far.  What feels good and why.    Will need 7 more for the smallest scenario…for one.   Twice that for two.    I have "traded " them,  Jenny and Alyssia the   7 One   in exchange for   Red Rules.    Want to keep   7.  

someThing, one,  else broke this morning.  i heard it snap and then the shoosh of it falling into whatever was below.   Goats darted from the direction of the Curry House so i walked the Doe Forest.  Could be a couple things since i've last been down there, but  nothing for sure.   Fencing all good.   Tomorrow i'll walk up and over this C area,  heading over toward the downward slide to the Meadow.   Maybe there.   Sound is a trickster.   But they are breaking and falling.   This has been and is a hard season.

    sound is very much insulated here … although barking dogs and train whistles do manage to make themselves heard
    but I remember the sound of tree branches breaking off and falling during storms when we lived in Virginia … the really tall trees, oaks and tulip poplars and long needle pines … it always seemed like an unusually long time between the crack and the crash
    your log cabins have inspired me … although I know where I want to put them, I’m not yet sure how they’ll come together

    you could keep going and make one big cabin. I might try that.
    the falling away, spooky but I love the mystery of it.

    A good what-if – one big cabin! And then because the strips would become too short, piecing them randomly. Might look pretty crazy, but might be fun to build. What strikes me about your squares is the contrast, darkness and light. Everyone has darkness in it (except the last). It’s almost like a type of writing.

    I don’t remember ever hearing a tree fall–even in Virginia where the back of our lot was wooded and abutted a public woods. If I ever did, I either didn’t realize what it was, or I simply processed it as a “normal” sound.
    The squares are coming along great.

    these trees are over 100 ft tall. When they “land”, it’s mostly atop other trees nearby. A lot is involved.

    sound is very important to me. to be able to identify direction.
    to be able to act on that information. i also rely on the Goats…
    their response….sudden running…away. Their hearing is way more
    acute and correct and complex than mine
