the words in the notebook came from this last one….or,   With      this last one         in the early early morning hour…     and the day has passed.   the Epiphany has faded,  hidden its Self in   a quietness,  now.   But it was THERE and so VIVID      How love is everything.

how love   ,    lower case love,    everyday love

is Everything    is Alive in everything.    is love just    Life Force?       What do those two words mean….life force?    ???????   I'd thought how this last gathering of pieces couldn't be ok,   but they were….they were just so much OK    and there was an understanding      for moments.    then quieting.     i will wait for it now.   Trust ing that it will return.

the notebook refers to T's Ocean Day….i can't tell in this moment what i understood about that this morning…but it was so clear,  so incredibly clear…..They had all gone to  Santa Cruz,   to the Ocean there on T's Day….T's Day of her death,  Santa Cruz her favorite place,  the place where her ashes were let loose one year ago… T   32 yrs old,  Love of my grandson Jeff,  mother of Brinley      Just them and i have pics on my phone of them there,  that Ocean,  a couple small videos of the Ocean coming IN  upon them,   Jenny,   mother of Jeff,  Alyssia,  sister,  Julian and Emrie,  Brinley,  building sand structures with feather and stone

how love is sometimes so sad,  but is

love  somehow no different than the love that is  Joy

Life force: how sad love and joyful love are both so needed because when we lose someone we love, and I don’t use the past tense because when we love, it simply IS…the remembering, the missing the sadness, envelopes us with all that they meant to us and honors them as well as shows as that our capacity to open ourselves to feel all of these emotions, simply means that at the end of the day,in my experience, Love remains…
These words from my dearly loved Irish poet, ex-priest, philosopher, scholar, John O’Donohue, from his work, “Bennacht”.
    And when your eyes
    freeze behind
    the grey window
    and the ghost of loss
    gets into you,
    may a flock of colours,
    indigo, red, green
    and azure blue,
    come to awaken in you
    a meadow of delight.
    When the canvas frays
    in the currach of thought
    and a stain of ocean
    blackens beneath you,
may there come across the waters
    a path of yellow moonlight
    to bring you safely home.
May the nourishment of the earth be yours,
may the clarity of light be yours,
may the fluency of the ocean be yours,
may the protection of the ancestors be yours.
    And so may a slow
    wind work these words
    of love around you,
    an invisible cloak
    to mind your life.

Yes, love is everything. I’ve been trying to figure out what my purpose is and love is the only answer I get. I was ranting to myself about some killer on one of the crime shows my husband watches when that answer came. If the whole world could learn real love (not romantic or fairytale) love, how much better we all would be. And that real love includes everyone, not just the loveable, including serial killers. But real love means tough love, because they deserve to be locked away, but not to be hated. Love–such a simple thing, but somehow not simple for everyone–really is the answer to everything.

Maybe I use the word ‘love’ too much, but it describes the feeling I have when I look at your beautifully colorful, soft, and thoughtful hand-stitched log cabin blocks becoming a comfy, comforting, and warm quilt!
I’m happy that you have the photos of them at Santa Cruz.
