finding this card in a book….Voyager Tarot and it set me to thinking about how many things i have loved in this life Time and still love, small things, large, small like this card that i've loved for so long and things, so many i still love and then things that now arise to love
and the thing of Radical Acceptance…how there is some kind of Release the word Compassion comes up ….this, but also, there is just plain old Love.

One of the things that I find so meaningful this time of the year is to bring out the seasonal items that I have loved for many, many years. My girls and I like to do this, like to call or email and re-tell the stories that go along with these items that we have loved for so long.
This morning was one of those times: An email came from my daughter Erika with a photo attachment. The photo was of me, when I was 16 and of my sister Ysi who was 14. We are both wearing robes so it is early morning and we are sitting on the floor, wearing our robes. It is early morning but not Christmas because there are no presents yet under the tree. What especially took me down memory lane was that my daughter had captioned the photo with the nicknames that my sister and I had given to each other.tree yet.
In that moment of seeing our nicknames, I “went” into that photo, remembering the joy, love and laughter that we shared…later on, life became difficult for my sister and we were estranged at the end of her life but she knew and knows, that she will always be my “Ro”, my nickname for her. And this brings me back to love, how it can seem to disappear like a mist but in actuality, it never leaves us for it is tethered by memories of shared lives and moments of ever lasting heart felt love.

Ignore the typo in the 2nd paragraph, the two words at the end, tree yet. Sometimes, when I dig deep to write a comment, I get a bit emotional and fingers fly all over the keyboard…
