made by hand a human being's hands. This one…..from the Socorro NM thrift shop, how many others have had it before me? What all has it held? Who made it? with their hands Where were they? What did they make it for?

Beautiful Grace. You remind me of my treasured basket from my dear friend, Lupe. Her father made it…her father who lives in Mexico and went to the river to gather the reeds, strip them, weave them…most of his adult life…he made and sold baskets. This is really something important to me – – – his doing, his story. I will ask to hear this story again. Thank you for this reminder.

Your basket is a treasure … it would be interesting to know the history of the amazing things we find while thrifting. Thrifting still one of my favorite past times even though there is very little I need anymore but I do continue to find it very relaxing. Oh and all those wonderful threads … love all the beautiful colors.
