i like to think the Universe says Metta for me
sometimes in the face of things, i can fall into a place where i think Metta is weak. that its words are naive, childlike simplicity But sitting, breathing, i think….is it not what ALL living beings would hope for?, Safety, happiness, strong enough body to carry you along, freedom from suffering, however your circumstance defines that
I’ve had these similar thoughts recently…how has saying Metta helped, impacted, served me and those I say it for. Where do I lay my disappointment bare when those simplicities seem unchanged? How to continue on?
I adore seeing your tree filled sky Grace. The blue and cloud could be mine here, so much further South. We are under the same sky. There is a comfort in that.

Good morning Grace .. I just love how you so often leave me with thoughts to ponder. How can words .. morning tea .. music .. a good read .. friends one or all give you strength comfort joy one day and others days nothing .. at the least very little. I continue to struggle after our gatherings .. are my words unkind .. insensitive? Sending you grateful hugs.

I’m struggling with your use of the word weak. Weak as in not exerting much force, not doing much? A weakness in you? The David Whyte quote captures a lot of the essence of metta for me. I feel such an expansiveness in my heart while doing metta. I actually feel (can almost even see) waves radiating out from my heart. Whether that energy actually reaches the recipient, or all beings, I don’t know. I have to believe that it makes a difference somehow, releases more lovingkindness into the world.
