in the storage tubs at B.     Was looking for something else but…..these photographs and others…….  in a handsewn Envelope from the Gallery that i was involved with.     Art dolls.   Fiber figures.    I am surprised at how deep the feeling is….still….it's been many years.   This is the last one i made.   The best.   except for the one of    The Child…..lifesize   with it's facemask from one i made of Alyssia    her  probably 4 yo self

Oh Grace. Until I clicked on the photos, at first she looked like clay…then I read and went in for a closer look and the expression on her/your face – your drawings come to life. Her eyes tell of a deeply lived life and spirit. Amazing.

For a very moving description of how grace made her dolls, go to her blog post of 6/18/2016, as I’m not sure I copied the link correctly:

I was very privileged to see some of her dolls when she lived in New Mexico. When our twin grandchildren were born, she moved me to tears when she sent Little Happiness, one of her special dolls, as a gift to honor their birth. Little Happiness, in her softly hued colors of green and lavender was so alive. With her legs splayed out, she looked to be dancing in happiness and joy. Our daughter Erika deemed Little Happiness a very special Guardian for our grandchildren, Spencer and Rowena. grace infused her dolls with a sense of story, wisdom, light, love, and most of all magic and we all were blessed as a result of her creative gifts.

How wonderful that Marti is so good at sharing old links .. such a beautiful process. Michelle was correct calling them true Folk Art. How fun that you came across the photos .. and that you shared them.
