to try and try again Part 2, Friday eve

day 2.    Trying to load this one simple pic.   and repeats of this one simple pic.   what appears on the screen:

Image Proxy.  HTTP error   Unknown Image Proxy error

this happens now and then and usually if i just have patience,  wait an hour or so and try again,  things just return to normal.   Sometimes it takes waiting longer.      This time….i began early in the day yesterday.   Then off and on.   Then over and over every little while for the last hours of yesterday,   thinking….any minute.       Then i just went to sleep.    First thing this morning,  try again and      still.    So…will give up for now.    Try to find out what that Image Proxy thing is.   Maybe fill out a Typepad Help Ticket….but they take days.

so…just to say…

 

FRIDAY EVE:

Help Ticket filed.

in comments,   Beth again speaks of ad blocker issues.   For her,    196 pop ups         then,  Deb L  says just posting comment was hard. 

so,  QUESTION:     How pervasive are these two issues?    And,   are there others?

And,  to note     when tapping image above      to enlarge    it comes up correctly rotated.   ?????????

Enough for today.    This eve Feed,  filling the water tubs….again….this small frog watches.   I want to talk about this.

    (Don’t know enough to help with the errors. But as I think I told you before, my ad blocker goes crazy on your site. Right now it is blocking 196 things. I suspect your embedded youtube videos are having an effect.)

    I find that I understand less and less about the things that go wrong…a care less and less to try and solve them, computers or otherwise. Too much.
    Glad your lil frog arrived here though…just adorable. 🙂

    As I understand it, the larger the image, the longer it takes to upload and that gateway for uploading is timed. Consult with your tech folks to reduce the size of your images and see if that helps.
    I’m having the devil’s own time just posting this comment 😜

    this is the same old size format etc as all the recent pics that
    are drawings in the notebook
    nothing different
    nothing different from every day over and over every day but then…
    suddenly, not ok. I should just let it go
    i’m sorry commenting is a bummer…didn’t know that….

    Agreed. On my old computer, when it was dying off, I had the worst time getting your blog to load. I thought at the time that it was the videos in the sidebar, because I could see them trying to load. Now, on my newer computer, everything loads fine (except the one video that says it is unavailable) and I have been able to comment fine most recently.
    I don’t know if that helps, but that’s my feedback. 🙂

    No problems commenting just a slight irritation when Typepad pops us their
    “just a moment” message to verify that I am a real person! This happens on several Typepad blogs that I read. It is amazing to me how much I rely on my laptop to keep me connected with the world so I understand how it feels when there are glitches. I do hope that help comes quickly because sharing your life with us, your place in the world, via your laptop, your drawings, your photos and most of all, your words, is so important and our being able to come into it, matters not only to us but to you…

    just one of the things I love is the croaking of frogs and crickets at night. What a remarkable drawing and excellent eye ~ these little fellows don’t stay in one place very long here.     As to computer glitches. Oodles of difficulties with new Windows operating systems, google updates, and on and on. I’m just glad you and all are here today. My “business” systems” are head-ache tasks just now, small woes in a world full of big woes. My offspring are familiar with this oft said saying of mine: “I’m not in charge, I’m small and not at all”.

    I wish I could help more… My knowledge is only pretty basic. Google owns youtube. Google Loves analytics and tracking, targeted ads, etc. They constantly want to know who is looking at what. I suspect what Adblock Plus is responding to is tracking stuff. I just can see a tiny box with a number of things they are blocking. Right now for you it is at 312 because I’ve been here a while typing this. For comparison I just checked Deb G’s, she’s also on typepad, and there are 2 blocks. She doesn’t have external stuff in her sidebar. So it is pretty significant. Maybe this info can help when you talk to tech.

    Typepad no longer updates their software, they are an old platform. Their staff has no clue. The whole web has changed. It will only get worse. You might consider moving, but that will be a learning curve.
    I will begin moving all my classes soon.
