the worst. so far.
nothing.
I tried to go look for……..glimmers of light….but it wasn't working. I cooked. Hamburger Delux and french fries. Ate. Slept. There was caring for Goats. Throwing ball for Minnow twice. otherwise, sleeping. or, lying there, waiting for sleep. Oddly, the dreams are great.
Glimmers of light…
Last night, my grands treated their parents to a special event at the Oakland Zoo, the Zoo’s holiday Glowfari. They were given special tickets because they had been interns at the Zoo this summer. The Glowfari is described as a ” wildly popular, family-friendly experience features hundreds of ALL new, larger-than-life animal lanterns throughout the Zoo. Each lantern tells the story of the ongoing journey of wildlife, the importance of every species on our planet, and Oakland Zoo’s commitment to conservation.”
This morning, as I checked email, there was a photo of all of them against a backdrop of glowing, illuminating lights and I thought, in the midst of such darkness that has come to America, we find ways to find glimmers of joy. Those glimmers of joy will certainly continue when they all come here for Thanksgiving. To sit across the table, sharing food, that the grands will help cook, is to hold steadfast. We will eat, laugh, talk, argue and discuss how to go forward, knowing that no matter what has darkened our country, we will find ways to cope and go forward.

After every unimaginable loss .. we wake up to a new putting one foot in front of the other. I very much liked all the things Kamala said the other day. We will continue working towards a future … believing in a future that we so want for our future generations. We will be OK!

Taking comfort in animals is very healing. Spend time with goats and Minnow. Sleep is good too, although I had a nightmare last night.
