there are many kinds of Grasses on the Hill.  They appear in communities.   All either are or are beginning to set seed.  These just across and up a little from B Garden and catch the wind or breeze,  dance in unison.  Stopping to rest and looking out upon this it's easy to fall into a meditative state.   It's color…a dusky purple bronze

the grasses in central Texas have seeded and browned so early this year … and there are four days of triple digit heat in our forecast … it’s going to be a long hot summer

I always marveled at the Muhly grass that I found in the fields when we lived in TN. Had never seen anything like it, ethereal masses of pinkish grass that seemed so out of place to me but then, nature has its own color palette.
“Muhly grass, specifically Muhlenbergia capillaris (pink muhly grass), is native to the eastern half of the United States, from Texas to Florida and north to Massachusetts. It’s often found in sandy or rocky woods and clearings, along the borders of roads, and in prairies.”

Grace~ Love seeing this slice of your hill. That dancing in “unison” gets me every time. I think that is what captures me at ‘city park’ – watching the cattails…they way they all move together in the breeze. We always say that it looks like the prairies of South Dakota & Wyoming.
