still lost in all of Yesterday.   Julie refers to it as extreme clarity and that's what it feels like.

Today the Monday Work Away,  in San Antonio, but the drive there took a blink of an eye, the work done as if in a day dream.  Stopping at Alz. B's on the way home, feeding her lunch.  She was into spitting things out.  was Edgy.  good enough.  and home to Goat things and then,  just looking.

this is in like a little Room,  a sheltered place of grasses next to the Elderberry Tree.  it has been Talulah and her friend Jora's  restaurant kitchen.  where they prepare the meals of leaves, berries, twigs  and then serve their mothers who sit at the spool table in the stolen Janet Chairs.  The girls will be 10 this year.  When i see them at a distance at the grocery store i wonder who they are.  Even if they don't play here this year, maybe it can stay as an altar to little girls.

Even if they do not play the same, they will remember these days of their youth…it will weave it’s way into who they are at their core.
Well, at least that is how it was for me.
I can still recall the red oval enamel dish…the red berries and the birch tree seed pods used to make ‘mush’ for the island we were stranded on, but in reality – porches in the courtyard of a suburban apartment building.
    Some things stick.
    Lovely post Grace.

Altar for little girls… I played like that when I was young. And made little dwellings and paths from sticks, leaves, and dirt in the woods. Happy to think of little girls still playing this way. I wonder what getting electronic devices at very young ages is doing to us. I saw on the news an iPad holder that you could place up over an tiny infant’s head and it horrified me.

I am still here. Watching from afar. Thinking of you a lot when I am dodging goats on the road. A different world

hi grace. after weeks away, what a treat to come here. been awhile. the idea of an altar to girlhood is wonderful! and I love the line: ‘when I see them at the grocery store I wonder who they are’….
how would you ‘change that’ about dyeing? start keeping notes?

DEE! HEY!!!! i have gone to see what’s up with you many times to no avail.
Yes. an altar to girlhood. At a distance, they are so
grown. hair in a bun, not all flying this way and that.
bodies…different this year. no longer young, but that
inbetween thing…and tall. they are tall. but the
grasses and the tree remember them.
i would change that by i guess caring to remember.
not leaving it so much to whim. i would
    care.
snip a piece and say what i did on a little piece of paper. stitch it to the cloth. i think
