first thing in the Morning is always good.   Julian comes out when it's my second tea.  We talk.  Whatever comes to his mind.  It's easy and well,  good.  Third tea for me,  the two toads lumber through from the raised bed of Russian Sage,  across,  under our chairs,  over to the Iris beds by the wall of the house.  But this morning,  on my way in ,   a Spa.  Which was a pot put for son's Jack Russell Terrier who was too short for Tay's bucket water….

then the day kind of went how they seem to go,  the ……..boredom………taking hold,  the temp climbing to 100 degrees and we negotiate even small things.  keep just going.  BUT, then,

they discover the lean to that i put together as a wind/rain break that the Goats have NO interest in.

There is a thought that children need boredom, that it is a disservice we do to children today, that they don’t have space to experience it. That boredom leads to creativity and problem solving… I do believe this is true. Keep going… 🙂

Takes me back to my own childhood memories…..lifetime memories can’t be bought with any amount of money. They just come and Grace… they stay.

In the “boredom of not being orchestrated in activity” these beautiful children have learned the joy of discovering – finding a way to make time pass with pleasures from self expression. What fantastic gifts they are receiving from time spent in your beautiful world, Grace.

Reminds me of the beach cottage we stayed at when I was a kid. No TV, AC, AM/FM radio or closets, although it did have an outdoor shower, potbelly stove, tiny galley kitchen, and twin beds (even for the grown ups). My mom used to say my brother and I were impossible for the first week as we got over having no TV. But we played cards, painted rocks, climbed trees, fished or dug clams for some of our meals, ate fresh corn and tomatoes grown at the farm down the road, and spent long lazy hours at the beach. It certainly was rocky at times, but the memories that I hold closest are golden.
You are giving Julian and Destiny gifts of time that will surely turn golden, too.

bored is a descriptive word for a space where all is as it is, nothing coming In. My entire childhood could have been in this category, but to me, it was just the time of Watching.
I didn’t protect my kids from “boredom”. Let them roam in the Nothing in Particular and always they came out with a good
    Something.
it seems to be harder now,, with the addiction to the electronic.

Yes, just this Liz! I agree with your words and Deb’s too. Reminds me of so many days…mine under the lifegaurd stand or in the bushes and trees…and my kids of building forts and “digging on the hill”. As time move along, they will become more settled and make so many memories. What a gift for you all.
