cauliflower.  TWO are now Forming.  A woman at the Farmer's Market advised.  Be patient.  Wait.  Just when you lose hope,  they appear.

the thick leaves…that we have eaten all along in morning stir fry,  the central thick leaves Cup over.  It's happening.

The Visit is over.   Learning the granddaughter was tender and excellent.  My son,  her father,  a mix of so many things,  but i could Find Him,  in there,  the boy i know.   The X,  the father of my children,  who he is and he didn't come here,  said he had seen it last year,  no need.   So it goes.

in the days,  i read Walking Each Other HOME,  Ram Dass and Mirabai Bush.  it was like sitting in a room with them,  considering Loving and considering dying.    And it came at  just the right time.  I see clearer what Work i need to do.

the days here are extraordinary.  70's,  bright and loving Sun.

I watch…the other Places and send love,  send Metta to the east coast.

Well, you know I come here mostly daily to be with you a while (and it’s never the same so always worth looking in)-Those who truly see, see beyond the surface, deeper into the process and shift of things, like you. Hope the cauliflower does it’s thing. It’s a Fall crop in your neck of the woods. My Zendo has been meeting Fridays once a month (over 65 only)discussing and meditation on issues or ageing and death. Meta to you and all. The East Coast is waving and smiling.

Well, not “seeing” it all, again–says everything doesn’t it? so happy you are eating the cauliflower leaves. Every part of a plant is so delicious and it’s sad that most of us put those parts in the compost bucket. I love the stems of broccoli most of all. Peeled.

and in the thread of your post this morning….
my favorite story about X from granddaughter Alyssia…
a few years ago when he and his wife bought their
latest condo on a golf course in Texas. in phone
conversation he said he was completely exhausted. Alyssia
was alarmed. But he went on to clarify that they
had ordered two stories of furniture from Ikea and
he’d spent a week putting it all together. wore himself
    out.

the leaves…i love just the word…leaves…how it
feels in the mouth to say it…
and yes. the broccoli stems. We have broccoli too
but they just give leaves. Again, we planted
late. Will do better next spring.

today will move the meditation chair swing from down
in the Doe Forest for the coming season. Am thinking
to put it just right here, in the Morning Tree…
making it easy to just go Sit off and on during the
    days.
I always love your Zendo Fridays, you are Lucky.

Georgia got off cheap this time. A day of gray rain. I cringe for North Carolina. It will be forever changed. You make me want to turn my front yard into a pasture. Thinking about spring before fall has set in.

On a golf course.. says alot about who I am not.. commercially fertilized and manicured.
I have never had luck with broccoli or brussels sprouts.. but what i expected was huge,, like in a grocery store. The smaller heads and pea sized brussels were so very tasty. And the second (or sometimes the first) crop in the fall as a reminder to never give up.

Me bad .. I am one of those that compost the outer leaves of many vegetables but do know about the deliciousness of broccoli stems. I’m always learning and have already put cauliflower on my next years planting list. Glad you had a good visit with family and not surprisingly from what’s been written why your X is your X. Happy you’re finding time for stitching.. reading and opening your world to ours on such a regular basis.. love to you Grace!

to learn about what makes them so big…the ones in the
store…more water? Do we really need to put in a drip?
I love giving water by hand, holding the hose, but i don’t stand there all day, either…
Thinking about what Matters…pea size food? enough
    and the leaves all along?
these are things we think about now.
